Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
I dont think so i was told he couldnt fight because of Visa problems, I assume he couldnt get into the country uness they wouldnt give him permission to fight once here?
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
Thanks for the reply and I wish you the best of luck on your voyage to the US........dominator wrote:we are waiting for confirmation from dkp to fight in the usa sep 11 and oct 13, i really hope it happens as thats where i want to make a name for myself.
my style was pure brawler early in my career, but for my last fight i boxed, so i can be versatile depending on my opponent.
the mahone fight was one i asked for,he was in nz sparring with shane cameron, nz promoter ken reinsfield told me he was surprised i asked for it, i was considered an easy win for mahone till he got another big fight, but i watched him growing up and i knew his style and how to beat him, the fact that he had a name in the states was what made it really attractive to me, I got in a great prep sparring with pieter cronje and lawrence tauasa and boxed his ears off.I have no doubt they expected me to stand and trade like i used to and it was a big shock when i used my hand and foot speed.
here are some highlights

I see you said you have Grant in Sep, but any idea who might be on tap for Oct?
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
my fight with tutaki was called off because i still had trouble with my ribs, ed mahone cracked them, thanks Ed.
dawsons opponent never made it to perth.
Armageto, im not sure , the one in sep is still not completely finalised, and in boxing until the bell goes ding and the guy tries to it you you never really know if the fights on or not

Good luck getting Grant. He backed out of 3 fights with us.....dominator wrote:

Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
who is US armageto?
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
Thanks Marlin............
Grant ducked Madison many of times. Actually, there is a list of fighters who have done so. It just seems like everyone wants an opponent from the grave, instead of fighting a live opponent. We were also turned down to be on this weeks FNF by both, or so it would seem. Add in John Poore, the kid that just beat Williams, hell, even Timor Imbragimov. How f'n sad is that?
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
Great to see Mark, Someone grabbing an oppotunity with both hands to fight overseas, his record is decent too mate.dominator wrote:i never underestimated digger, he has dropped mirovic, briggs and close with sol, he just had a style that at the time completely bamboozled me, digger is a geat guy and came into the change room after the fight to give me some great advice, ill always remember that, a cold lonely change room and the only one to come chat was digger. most people gave up on me after that fight but to me it just meant i had to make allot of changes and start again.
my next fight was confirmed today, sep 13 in usa against 12-2 horace ray grant, he recently fought on espn.he is similar to mahone, a big strong guy that plods forward looking to land the overhand right.

MARK SEEN YOUR VIDEO THAT YOU POSTED THE LINK TO, LOOKS FLASHY AS FAR AS THE VIDEO GOES BUT THERES STILL A LOT OF THE AMATER KID WE SEEN AT KINGSWAY STILL IN THE STYLE. THERE IS A BIG SIZE INCREASE BUT SOME MORE TECHNICAL STUFF IN YOUR ARSINEL WILL TAKE YOU A LOT FURTHER. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR UPCOMING FIGHT MATE,
STRAIGHT HANDS MARK
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
colin, i have no idea how you came to that conclusion, i would say my style is completely the opposite of the amateur days, i appreciate your support but extremely confused by your comments. i only had 11 fights and was never in proper shape as i dont think we trained hard enough.
maybe i should put up some of the old amatuer fights for comparison

Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
MARK WHAT I MEAN IS YOU STILL ROCK BACK THE SAME WAY WITH YOUR LEFT HAND DOWN, YOU MOVE STRAIGHT BACK RATHER THAN ON DIFFERENT ANGLES. THERE IS A HELL OF A LOT MORE BODY MOVEMENT NOW THOUGH. IT WASN'T A CRITISISM MOE WHAT I SEE AS A BLOKE WHO MUST HAVE SEEN NEARLY ALL YOU AMATEUR BOUTS. JUST A LOCAL KEEN ON SOME ANLES AND PUNCHES IN BUNCHES, ONE AND TWO DON'T GO ALL THE WAY ALL THE TIME. I WILL ADMIT TO NOT SEEING YOUR PRO FIGHTS LIVE AS THATS WHERE YOU CAN GET THE TRUE INDICATION
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
for the mahone fight it was one or two at a time, as we noticed he waits for you to stop and unload and he then unloads as your punching, so we had a plan to stick and move, never letting him set his feet, he has one of the best ko % records in heavyweight history so we had no intention of giving him any chance to load up.
for the record i remember always having my left hand high as an amatuer, but i must say it really restricts my agility and movement from the hips, so instead i prefer to shoulder roll and parry than block with my left high

OK THERE'S THE REASON FOR THE STYLE!!! THE SHOULDER ROLL HAS BEEN THERE FOR A LONG WHILE THOUGH. GOOD LUCK AND HOPE TO SEE SOME LIVE ONES, I'LL COME SAY HI AGAIN. COLIN
Re: Mark de Mori, anybody know about him?
as i move up into better quality opposition i cant just stand and bomb away, much to the frustration of the crowd ;)
you have a good memory colin, all i remember in those old amateur days at kingsway was being so nervous before my fights sitting around waiting i couldn't wait to get in and get it on

MATE I'VE NEVER BEEN A HOON JUST WANTING TO SEE BLOKES BOMB AWAY AND HAVE NOTHING MORE.
THERE'S A GREAT SKILL IN THIS SPORT THAT BRINGS SOME BANGERS TO GROUND. I'D WATCH A WELL ROUNDED BOXER ALL DAY, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT HAS BANG WITH ALL THE SKILLS
