Answer: Punching power like a fast handed fighter like Rubin Carter would make him slower?? Sorry, you are totally wrong. When you knock someone out and are punching hard, fast and correctly, your offense is your defense. If Mayweathe knew how to teach and use that ,Ray lLeonard and others would not have destroyed him in the ring.

2. You don't need an inside 'NY edge' to beat Malignaggi hes shit, you make it sound like NY fighters have unique skills, they don't and they havent produced anyone decent recently

Answer: That post reeks of biaas, and is unrealistic, there is a definite risk of Malignaggi outboxing Ricky from the outside and he would need to be stopped and hurt not pressed wildly. That kind of statement has too much rancor in it to continue this.

3. Mayweather Sr has had success with Juan Guzman (whos looked better under him), Delahoya (who deveolped later success under him) and Chad Dawson. Who the hell has Lipton trained?
Answer: Juan Guzman, please, DLH never improved enough under Mayweather or he would have punched a lot harder V PBF. Dawson is what he is and Mayweather did not add anything special. Lets be real.

Answer: It is more who he trained with and what he did himself. The other guy has such a backround with the great fighters of legend he is a walking library of their tricks, styles, and is in amazing shape for his age. He is one of the last of the great fight teachers, and a gentleman.

Answer: Why you know Alan Sugar? Of course he has knowlege of those things, your posts seem a bit too personal and without accurate knowledge. I saw a film of him and his timing and hand speed are amazing. He is a vicious infighter and teaches it well, without leaving any openings except the other guy laying out cold open on the canvas.

You discredit Floyd Srs work on Guzman, who has Lipton trained near Guzmans level? Lipton may have trained with great fighters but he hasnt trained any. Guzman is top10 P4P fighter whos improved under Sr.

It sounds like your either Alan Sugar or a friend/relative of his. Maybe Ron is a top man but he needs to walk before he can run and in boxing training he hasnt walked yet in terms of achievement in boxing training (correct me if I'm wrong). Simply put Lipton has no track record and hence wont get any big training jobs so hes not worthy of discussion

Lastly I have to question your knowledge if you think your going to significantly change a boxers punch speed/power at the age of 29, Ricky Hatton doesnt have the best punch technique in the world but it fits his style and it wont speed up or get more powerful at the age of 29, how many world class boxers speed/power has improved at the age of 29? At the end of the day, the proof is in the pudding. Who has Alan Sugar ever trained and who is he training now that warrants this guy to come here and make baseless assertions criticising Mayweather Jr as a "runner and hider"?

Boxing is the ART of hitting and not being hit. Hard punching is just one facet of what makes this sport great. All the talk of "hitting hard" sounds like something you hear in gyms in the north of England, where being able to "give a good crack" is worth more than actual boxing skill and technique, which Hatton simply hasn't got to a high enough level. End of story.

Answer: Again. There are so many great specialists in the boxing business that many of the best for a variety of reasons are not as well known as others. Some great trainers like Angelo Dundee, Gil Clancy et al have either never had a glove on or just barely. Very few have the background of Lipton combined. However, like the example cited of Kelly Pavlik's trainer taking that one charge to the top, the discussion on the table would be akin to someone wanting the best watch or gun perhaps and instead of going to the market place, there is the little shop at the bottom of the mountain in Switzerland if you will where the greatest craftsman may be. This guy is good at what he does.

Answer: Did not mean to discredit the warrior and my apologies if misundestood, it is not just training with great fighters who are slightly better than Guzman, like Carter, Ali, Tiger etc, he worked with them to beat other champions and was credited as such. However, I think as affcionados of boxing let us at least admit that Floyd Mayweather Sr, is certainly not in the legend category of a Tiger and he only can pass on what he knows. Lipton really has gleaned the secrets from the best and has been at it a long time. Hatton will probably go with someone else but he should bring Ron in as a specialzed trainer to add to the mix, if not fine. Best of luck to him. If I had millions to spend just as a fan I would pay Ricky not to hire Floyd sr just so on fight night no one would have to listen to the gutteral and filthy language that seems to run so rampant with Roger and Floyd SR, after awhile it really grates on the ears especially with Mr and Mrs. Hatton sitting ringside. It is nice to keep things at a high level and the trade off for the same old training techniques isn't quite worth the Roger Mayweather v Floyd Sr wars or ring riots like they had in Las Vegas with them. Just my opinion.

Answer: Walk before he can run? The guy has been in it since he was 12, with so many great fighters, accumulating a record number of ko's and quick knockouts while the paid sparring partner of legends. He just trained a guy on a days notice to fight Vassily Jirov and in one day had the fighter stagger Jirov with the one shot he taught him within only hours. He has basically done it all in boxing, I think he walked already LOL

When it comes to bias there is no track record that seems to be good enough for you, you obviously have an ambivilant agenda which is your business, whether he gets this big training job or not is up to Hatton, who should choose wisely this time, and as far as not being worthy of discussion, I would assume with all respect Sir, that your track record in boxing as a "Fan" may very well be the one not worthy of discussion
because by your standards Angelo Dundee himself would never have been hired by Carmine Basilio at that stage of his career. Lipton did it all and deserves the chance to really help Ricky get into the kind of shape to be a faster, harder, and more elusive knockout puncher and defensive fighter.

Answer: Yes, he can be changed and in the condition he gets in he will execute it perfectly under the right fight teacher. Ron at age 62 looks stronger now than he was at 40, his Jack LaLane type methods and secrets of punching power are astounding and he is constantly visited by all the old champs who contribute his knowledge through the years. Give a man a chance, the most positive thing for Ricky is that Ron is the type of guy who he could really relate to and Ron's style was very similar to his unlike other trainers mentioned. He could turn it up a notch for the lad.

Answer: "Warrants this guy to come here??" Is this a private social club or the internet with a respected and polite boxing site?
Baseless assertions? What rubbish! PBF Money Mayweather is a very skilled stick and move, run and hide, roll your shoulder, jump 10 feet back, grab and run artist. People have walked out of some of his fights after paying good money. That is exactly what he is a very skilled boxer who runs and hides and grabs when the going gets rough. Kudos to him but that is what he does best.

Answer: Your definition of Pro Boxing is your opinion and not what it is in its totality. People want to see a fight and the North of England is just fine with me. People don't want to pay their hard earned money to see a feather fisted runner who could not break a Nun's glasses or dent a bowl of yogurt, they want to see a Randy Turpin left hook once in bloody while. Ricky Hatton has the goods and he has done fine with is style, adding more power is the ticket and when he comes back reincarnated in the next life as a run, roll, block and survive kind of chap, then we can get Mayweather to train him, right now he needs to knock them all dead in their tracks again.
