This is something that has been annoying me for some time now, OwainCymru. I thought for a long time that a real boxing fan should go to all events they can afford to, though eventually came to the conclusion that the best way to try and force better fights is to stay away from the current ones I think are shady. Although this mode of action is probably completely ineffective given that hometown fans will find joy nomatter who their hometown hero fights. :)

It would be preposterous to suggest all fights be completely level affairs, I mean, under-dogs need to exist in boxing... but all too often the opponents for SN stars have been complete no-hopers.

And how ironic that richter-scale posts in this thread, given that he was involved in one of the most money-worthy big domestic clashes of the year so far.

Surely you can get a refund when the opponent changes like this. I know I wouldn't bother with the Hatton fight now the opponent has been changed.

He should've re-priced the tickets - £10 ringside would be about right.

Is anyone else sick to their stomach of being ripped off with either, cancelled shows, late replacements of inferior quality, undercard bouts being promoted to headline fight AFTER you've bought your ticket etc. etc. ?

How many times has Calzaghe had the flu in the last few years ?
The last time he caught the flu (v Mkrtchian), Maccarinelli was promoted to headline bout. No disrespect to Macca but I paid £100 for tickets to see Calzaghe AND Maccarinelli (BTW in a freezing cold venue).

Jason Cook v Kevin Bennett
Now let me think....ah, got it. Cookie caught the flu !
Undercard bout promoted to headline. Another £50 down the drain.

Hatton v Pinto
This 'fight' has been well documented in this forum. Suffice to say that fighting Pederson does not generate the same excitement as fighting Pinto. Another £200 gone!

As someone said to me recently, if you paid to see Man Utd. (not that I am a fan) you wouldn't expect to see Halifax instead.

Me? I'm sick of it and SKINT!
If i'd bought a ticket for all these fights, and all this s**t happened to me, i'd go on a killing spree. Talk about bad luck. :(
