Boxingtalk.net are reporting that allegedly spent some time trying to convince Mike Stewart to face Ricky Hatton.
However, Sharmba Mitchell's camp objected, and said the only switch they would accept would be for Sharmba himself to fight Hatton.

That confirms precisely the point the Warren critics (including me) have been making. Witter is NOT an exception - FW just has a convenient excuse there, i.e. their falling out.

If Hatton wants a crack at a real world title, he absolutely has to ditch Fast Frank.

The news in Denmark is that they first tried to get Allan Vester to step in but he is in the US at the moment so they offered the spot to Holbæk.

If this is correct it would be very interesting to hear what Hatton thinks about it. Hatton seems the type of fighter IMO who would have taken the Sharmba fight.

Mitchell and Witter are both styles you wouldn't want to come up against with less than 3 days notice. You need alot of preperation, especially for a switch hitter like Witter and someone as good as Mitchell. Warren would have taken a huge risk putting Hatton in with one of these.

Whereas he is prepared for Ricky to fight Stewart because he's alot more orthodox, nothing Hatton hasn't seen before etc....

I agree, especially as training for Pinto must have been quite unique in terms of a Light-Welterweight preparing for 6ft plus opponent, to switch to a Witter/Mitchell type opponent 72 hours before fight night is something even I wouldn't ask of Warren and Hatton.

Then why did Warren not draw up a binding agreement for an instint rematch it could have easily been done and would have been fair for both fighters whom both could have lost and would have thought because of the three days notice deserved a instint rematch.
