for those of us lucky enough not to have sky, radio five broadcast a lot of uncle franks shows. obviously the main fight bets the most room but often theres decent commentary from the main support too. Hattons fight is on tonight at 8.50pm

listening to boxing on the radio is something that on occasion i prefer to do rather than watch the fight live. even in this day of instant comunication, internet, ppv etc theres still something warm about tuning into a big fight featuring a british fighter in the middle of the night, usually around 4am!

Mitchell knocked down Stewart in the early stages of round four, but Stewart hurt Mitchell soon after. 39-36 Mitchell.

Mitchell won easilly as Stewart was knocked down three times. I think Sharmba was hit a little bit more than he should've been, and I'm surprised he couldn't put Stewart away.

I think you're right Neil, the radio reminds me of my far off youth

and listening to fights in the early hours. Used to be Ian Darke sometimes.

Well The Dane was very brave in there, but completely outgunned as expected.

Notice how they announced him as the former IBF interwhatever Light Welterweight champion?! He was actualy the IBF Intercontinental Super Featherweight champion - cynical or what?
Onto 5th June, and let's hope it's Mitchell in the other corner. Gary Shaw will drive a hard deal, but I'm sure Frank will find the money somehow.

Mitchell was as slick as ever, but he didn't like the few body shots that landed I thought.
Hatton will grind him down for a late stopage, or points maybe.
