I saw Portman's last fight for the British Masters and thought he might be able to outbox Sauders in this one but the old saying stands, the last thing a fighter loses is his punch. Fair play to Saunders, his fights always entertain.
Portman claims he was caught cold, but I would have thought his corner would have warned him of Saunder's explosive power.
Good to see Saunder's back in the mix. Portman can come again, undoubtedly.

Yeah, heard about this result from Richard Lakin of the Express and Star. Great win for Saunders, who'd been in hard training for a fight with Malcolm Melvin in Birmingham till Melvin pulled out injured. And the training paid off. Great win. A real stunner. Saunders deserves a crack at his old title. Barnes ain't the greatest champion in the world.
In my opinion Barnes should have a choice but fight Vincent, you know what I think about this - I can't believe he's just 1 fight away from winning the belt outright.bennie wrote:As opposed to Jimmy Vincent. :(stujones wrote:Saunders, Roache and Dhami three ex champions doing okay in comebacks who Barnes should consider.
Of course Vincent should be next, but if it nots going to be him - then the three I mentioned are certainly better than the ones who have already faced him.
