I know you don't like moving people down when they have won.... but Danny Williams moving up after that lazy, inept display when he showed he is just for the taking... sorry can't agree there. Even aside from a decision in which most seem to think he was lucky to get (I wasn't) - he was awful... shot.

Williams beat his mandatory contender, McDermott, who had been on a good run of form. Williams didn't look very good in doing so, but I thought that beating McDermott was worth a small jump up the rankings.

Just wandering.... if Rogan smashes Audley - would he be considered.

No, I don't think so. Audley and Rogan are not currently leading contenders for a place in the top 30, so this is not going to be any sort of play-off fight for a place in the list. It would be a very good start for Rogan though.

Have you considered Sprott - cause lets not forget... He beat Williams in their last meeting... he smashed Audley (who technically should be ranked above Williams - given that he beat him last time they fought) and he actually held Skelton to a MD last time.

I currently rank Williams ahead of Harrison and Sprott as he has done more than those two since their victories over him. Sprott was in my top 30 after his win over Harrison, but he has since fallen out and has not won a fight since then, so he is not at the top of my considerations for a place on the list.

Audley did beat Williams that last time they fought and his defeat since then was to a guy who also beat Williams the last time they fought.

It's a disgrace that you're even thinking about dropping Harrison, it's only been close to 3 years since his last fight.
After 4 he should be moved into the bottom half for inactivity and after 5 he could be considered for removal if someone else is strongly pushing the top 30.

I have sympathy for your points, BigEars, but the general consensus is that Harrison should be removed due to his inactivity of almost three years, his 6 months suspension and his legal and alcohol problems, and I am therefore finding it increasingly difficult to come up with arguments in support of Harrison remaining in the top 30.

I hope you can understand why I will almost certainly remove Scott Harrison next month.

Well, to add to my response to tyson's earlier question, Thaxton is close to the bottom of the list and I don't feel Murray should overtake Thaxton just yet, and I wouldn't want to enter a new fighter into the bottom two on the list as they would drop out too quickly.

Williams came in at late notice to fight Harrison and Harrison was then destroyed by Sprott a few months later. Sprott beat Williams 4 years and 6 months ago, Williams has had 15 fights since then and has been more a lot more impressive than Sprott in that time.

So, for me, Williams should be ranked ahead of these two, but I am sure others have different interpretations.

His last fight was on the 5th of November 2005, Joe Calzaghe hadn't even fought Jeff Lacy by then.
Alexander Povetkin had, had 3 fights, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Odlanier Solis were fighting in the World Amateur Championships.
Andy Lee was still an amateur, to keep a guy in a p4p list for verging on 3 years when it's obvious he's not going to be fighting again(at least any time in the near future) and if he does fight again he won't be the same fighter that deserved the original ranking.

It's simply ludicrous !
