Can anyone figure out the super middleweight division.
It's in a right bloody mess, apart from Mendoza v Vanderpool for the #1 spot, which other fights have actually been made?

Brian Magee may be in the running for an eliminator if he gets past Elliott a week on Saturday (which he should). There's talk of him meeting Robin Reid in a WBA eliminator in the summer for the right to meet Bumdine.jamesmcdonnell wrote:It's in a right bloody mess, apart from Mendoza v Vanderpool for the #1 spot, which other fights have actually been made?

This is an underrated division IMO marred by a total lack of fighters willing to fight one another, Mundine is probably the best out there now Ottke and Calzaghe have left. Robin Reid, Danny Green, Brian Magee, Markus Beyer and Mads Larsen may not be the biggest bunch of talented fighters around but there are some interesting matches could be made for certain and a lot of style clashes.
Mundine - Green looks like it should happen within 12 months and that's one of the big matches I'd like to see at any weight. Mundine's talking it up and after the comparisons Sam Soliman and Sean Sullivan have been making, it's got to be on. Has to. Go on.
Soliman said that Mundine was quicker than Tszyu at long range. OK, Tszyu's not lightning, but that's a super middle being quicker than a very good light welter. Not bad.

I do find it odd that Cateley has decided to retire, he would be right up there in the world mix. However, if his heart is not in it - then he's done a wise thing.
Its in a right mess domestically aswell - check out the rankings, with Dean Francis probably soon to be omitted from the list then I haven't a clue who I'll put in the list.
Its gone from our best domestic devision to possibly the worst one in a matter of 3 years.
