Hatton has not demonstrated ANYTHING!!!

Post by batopiraton »

There are a lot of very good fighters in his division

He needs to fight Tzyu although he is getting old,
Miguel Cotto is much more powerful than Hatton and has better boxing skills.
Maybe he will beat Mitchell, but Mitchell is not a big deal
Hatton has not the boxing skills required to beat Floyd Mayweather.

Panchito Bojado and Jose Luis Castillo from Mexico would be very good parameters.

So Hatton cannot be considered a boxing star yet. He has not fought anybody.

This is the same that happened to Naseem Hamed. He had never fought a real boxing star until he was outboxed by Barrera
Nevertheless Hamed was considered one of the best fighters in the world.

Hatton needs to fight real boxing stars.

Hamed WAS one of the P4P fighters in the world, no question.

He fought the wrong fight against Barrera thats all. Looking for the one big punch, rather than using his boxing skills. Its a result he could have avenged had he not cleared off. All history now I guess....

Furthermore... who ever said Hatton was a "star"? I don't think anybody is are they?

Do Showtime screen Hatton's fights in Mexico? I imagine his style of fighting goes down well there? :D

I can understand you want to see him step up a level, so does the whole of the UK, apart from his promoter allegedly.

Naz was the best fighter in the world at featherweight. Until Barrera stepped up in weight that is.
But he was also past his best by then. If Naz had met Barrera on his way up, as a super bantamweight, I think he would defintely have knocked out an unsuspecting Barrera.
Remember, Naz was relatively unknown at the time, so no way would Barrera have adopted that extreme counter punching style.
By the time they did meet, Marco had watched Hamed's style for years, and new exactly how to beat him - to the extent of even backing off when he hurt him.
At superbantam he would've walked right in, and a Naz nuclear bomb would've flattened him.

That's my theory anyway :D

I rate Hatton high. He will be a champion, trust me.

As I've said, for money, allegedly is a God he just doesn't have the power to make fights that he thinks he does.

Who did Naz beat to make him the best fighter Augie Sanchez, did he ever have a proper belt. He was severly overated in England and considered P4P but not in the rest of the world.

Sorry i was wrong he had the WBC title but the opposition is still ordinary, The only real good fighter he fought in there prime he lost to and i stand by my comment he was nowhere near top P4P.
