Promoter Barry Hearn says he is not convinced by reports former world featherweight champion Prince Naseem Hamed may end his two year ring exile.
It had been claimed Hamed could meet the winner of Saturday's bout between Injin Chin and Michael Brodie.
"I've not heard from Naz for three months and the last time I saw him he weighed about 12 stone," said Hearn.
"If he could get back down to nine stone he'd be in the mix, but I think we have more appealing alternatives."
I wonder whether Hamed is going to be interested if a fight with Brodie cannot be made. I think perhaps it could be a little optomistic expecting Brodie to want to fight when he does indeed have other options, especially if he wins the title.
