Hopefully Colin or one of our esteemed Australian readers can enlighten me:
We have some bouts for 2002-02-15 (Paul Smallman, Russell Townsend, etc) with a location of Woonona-Bulli RSL. I know what RSL means, so I figure this is the venue, but where in bloody hell is it? I checked Google, but all I got was confused. apparently there is a Woonona Australia, so I would thing that would be the locale, but I found other pages that indicate the address as Wollongong. Is one a suburb or something. What should be the correct location? And what is the Bulli part? Another suburb?
Aussie question
I corrected the entry.
It is in or very near Wollongong.

Woonoona and Bulli are both suburbs of Wollongong, a steel city around 50 miles south of Sydney. RSL means Returned Servicemen's League -- these are clubs formed by war veterans but they are often huge gambling clubs as per the Native American casinos (though on a much smaller scale).
Fights in the Wollongong region are also often held in the suburb of Dapto.

I must admit I put Bulli and Dapto as separate towns from Wollongong because they are not continuous with Wollongong as say Redfern and Marrickville are with Sydney City. I would be surprised if siome one from Bulli or Dapto thought of themselves as living in Wollongong. Bulli and Dapto would appear on a map of Australia, Marrickville and Redfern would not.
I hope you get my meaning.

Bulli and Dapto are a lot closer to Wollongong than, say, Blacktown or Liverpool are to central Sydney. For anyone from outside Australia, Wollongong gives them an idea of where the fight has taken place (as indicated by the initial poster, Bulli does not).
This forum, however, is clearly more interested in pedantry than getting the results right.

Pedantry HELPS get the results right.
Enter whatever you want about the place, but I put it to you again that people who live in Dapto would not say they lived in Wollongong when asked (if travelling overseas) where they are from, whereas I'm sure those in Blacktown and Liverpool would say they are from Sydney. There is continuous housing from Sydney to Blacktown or Liverpool. Is that the case from Dapto and Bulli ? It wasn't the last time I went that way.
It's still your call, put in whatever you think is most helpful. I put in Newcastle for Wallsend or Cardiff, two of its outlying suburbs.

I think big city locators help people realise where fights have been.
A card might be held in Swinton or Salford, for instance, which would mean nothing to someone in Des Moines, Iowa, whereas Manchester just might.
If people can't find Dapto on the map, they'll certainly be able to find Wollongong.
