I see Carnera beating Valuev fairly handidly with the better jab and work on the inside.
I think he loses by KO to Cooney and Vitali.
After seeing Wlad struggle with a gangly slow non-puncher in Thompson I think the superior Carnera could surprise there, Wlad's immense strength advantage on the inside would not be present vs the Italian, but I'm not sure how many right hands Carnera would be able to take before he falls.

Battle Of The Giants-Wlad Klitschko V Primo Carnera
I'd pay $$$ to see that...
Re: Battle Of The Giants-Wlad Klitschko V Primo Carnera
You might as well pay $$$ to see Klitschko hit a heavy bag for a few minutes. Won't be much difference.

Klitschko by knockout. Carnera was better than Tony Thompson though so who knows.

Carnera was also better than legends like Ross Purrity,Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster, and DaVarryl Williamson.
Klitschko obviously was a better all-around fighter than Carnera, but anyone who can punch at all has a chance against Klitschko.

reluctantly I would agree with Alp that Carnera has a bit of a chance....if it was prime Vitali I'd call it a sure thing, but Wlad's chin makes every fight he has a nail biter.

It would be like The Jolly Green Giant against The Brawny Man; a fight for the ages...BoxBuzz wrote:reluctantly I would agree with Alp that Carnera has a bit of a chance....if it was prime Vitali I'd call it a sure thing, but Wlad's chin makes every fight he has a nail biter.

i think Carnera was just too slow and lumbering to beat either of the Klischko's.He'd get tko'd pretty early with either u.k bro.
Carnera was pretty tough and obviously Extremely Strong but he DID go down fairly easily. He had pretty good resiliance overall but not against sledgehammer type power.I dont see him being able to take very many punches before he starts sprawling to the canvas repeatadly(like in the baer fight).
Carnera was more of a strongman/wrestler than he was a boxer.
Dont get me wrong,i think Primo would've made a devastating street fighter just by using his strength, size and leverage but as far as boxing goes,he was basically very limited and he would'nt have been able to use his size for leverage against neither one of the u.k bros.
Carnera vs Valuev would be interesting though.I think that one could easily go either way, depending on who's luckier and has more fight in em that particular night.

..in all of these fights, the referee would call them a one round draw, and send the fighters to their dressing rooms to protect them....from the audience.

Prime-4-Prime this is how I see the fights playing out:
Wlad-Primo: Primo attacks on the inside well and gives Wlad trouble early but Wlad manages to find distance by outjabbing him and unload big power shots on Carnera's chin, finishing him off quickly once he has him hurt around the 8th round.
Cooney-Primo: If there was one thing Cooney could do, it was punch and I think despite having some trouble early with Carnera's jab, he would've gotten inside and bombed him out. After a few rounds of power shots and despite taking damage on the way in Cooney manages to lower the boom and take Carnera out by about the 4th round.
Vitali-Primo: Vitali comes out ready to fight with Primo and counters well over Primo's jab with power shots. Carnera starts panicking early as Vitali lands with greater frequency and force until he finally folds in about the 5th round, taking a horrible beating.
Valuev-Primo: Primo tries to jab and box Valuev but Nicolay's sheer size, durability, and his own boxing skill wears Carnera down slowly until Nico takes him out around the 11th.

Wlad-I would pick Wlad, but Carnera could get lucky and knockout Wlad. Most likely scenario would be Wlad by mid-round stoppage.
Cooney- Cooney (at his best) would probably chop him down in 4 or 5 rounds.
Vitaly- Carnera would probably outjab him and win a close (and ugly) decision.
Vlauev -Primo was better in every area except possibly chin. However since Valuev can't punch that wouldn't be a concern. Carnera by decision.

I could see Vitali knocking out Carnera, but if it took Louis six rounds to get him out of there I don't think Vitali does it in fiveDiamond WEAPON wrote:Vitali-Primo: Vitali comes out ready to fight with Primo and counters well over Primo's jab with power shots. I'm not trying to slander Louis, just making a style comparison, Vitali I think on a H2H basis has more power than Louis did and despite not being as fluid and accomplished a boxer, I think he would've gotten rid of him pretty quickly.J-C wrote:I could see Vitali knocking out Carnera, but if it took Louis six rounds to get him out of there I don't think Vitali does it in fiveDiamond WEAPON wrote:Vitali-Primo: Vitali comes out ready to fight with Primo and counters well over Primo's jab with power shots.
