KEVIN JOHNSON, TOP US PROSPECT, TACKLES BRUCE SELDON

Post by overhand_right »

19-0 and WBA ranked #7 (despite not having beaten anybody) steps up to face ex-WBA champ Bruce Seldon, whos 41 years old.

Has anyone seen enough of Johnson to tell us how good he is? Only has a few kayos.

Seldons coming off a decent result -- a 5 rd whacking of Livin Castillo, but did bizarrely give up when he had a shot at nicking a points nod v Gerald Nobles, and came in morbidly obese v Tye Fields and got blasted.

Guessing Johnson has enough youth to take a points nod, but hes so untested you never know if old Brucie lamps him one.

Any thoughts? At least we'll learn something about Johnson, hopefully hes a lot better than Michael Grant, Dominic Guinn or Eddie Chambers, the last few big US 'hopes'.

Great skills but nobody's going to get excited about a heavyweight with SIX KOs from 18 fights.

i did a thread on the US but nobody was interested...

kevin is pointless

he fights 4 times a year..against plodders

the only reason hes attracted attention is cos he throws about 10 jabs a round (unusually  )

lets face it .....if any kind of decent hw fought Terry smith he'd probably land 100 jabs

I usually can apprieciate good skills, but Johnson really is boring to watch.
Alot of people have told him he has the best jab in the heavyweight division, he well do. But he needs to throw something else as well.
I was quite excited when i first saw him, but it just gets repetitive, he just never changes his attack.
