Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv
Even though i don't agree with it. Being 2 domestic fighters on PPV. PPV should be something for the absolute elite, e.g mayweather, margarito, calzaghe, kessler.
I do believe that Mirovic deserves this. He has fought his whole career and dedicated his life to the sport. And yet apparently hes not financially secure, according to a FSN interview i watched. So i hope Bob does make some solid $$$ from it.

Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv
so this fight is a benefit to Big Bib? A testimonial fight for his retirement? Why is he not financially secure? I would say that 80-90% of professional fighters in Australia have a second job, or, more appropriately, boxing is their second job. Not saying that this is right, it's just the way it is. If money has been a problem, what has Bob done to fix it? Sorry for the cynicism.Ultimateboxa2 wrote:Even though i don't agree with it. Being 2 domestic fighters on PPV. I know hes been living with his friends for years.
And i don't think he has been able to work full time. More part time. Because he trains the same as a full time boxer.

Are you trying to be funny again Anton?AntonS wrote:Mind ya, OZ promoters are very kind to BoxRec editors & usually layout the red carpet for us.

The fact I'm a member of ANBF's Ratings Committee probably helps :PMarlin wrote:Are you trying to be funny again Anton?AntonS wrote:Mind ya, OZ promoters are very kind to BoxRec editors & usually layout the red carpet for us.

Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv
I think the card has slipped a bit from the last time I looked at it... A few decent fighters but not many good match ups... The highlight is probaly seeing Jackson Asiku in the ring again.

I wouldn't pay for it and once again being on a wednesday I probably won't even go to the pub (my local won't have it).

Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv
should be good fight if sonni keeps his head out of it, his last fight down here went the distance so i know if he puts his mind to it he is a threat.huricn wrote:i will get it. but not for the main event but for Sonni -V- Les
Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv

welcome to oz my man...they do things different round these parts...oliverfennell wrote:Jesus, and to think the Brits are complaining about Amir Khan going PPV.
"john hopoate" and "PPV" shouldn't even be in the same paragraph let alone the same sentence.
bob's a likeable guy but PPV?

god no, mundine is a household name in australia.....hopoate was famous for putting fingers in peoples bums when he played rugby league. i doubt the average joe even knows hopoate is a boxer now.funso banjo baby wrote:adamheight wrote:welcome to oz my man...they do things different round these parts...oliverfennell wrote:Jesus, and to think the Brits are complaining about Amir Khan going PPV.

Re: Hoppa vs. Mirovic ppv
I don't think that is totally accurate. Hoppa was a great player in his early years and he a has received a heap of press as a boxer...
