Well worth 20 quid mate! Saying that I know a fella who had over 100k of a 100 quid bet for the champions of each division in the football last year.
I'm not sure with the times mate

COME ON KENNY...........
I got him at 80/1 at Centrebet - beat that *smug*
How much did u put down then?
I did about 15 fighters in total - £5 on some £2 and even £1 on other. I've £5 on Kenny and Darren. Here's my post from an Irish sites from a few weeks ago (pre the initial draw) this one is for you Big Ears!!!

"In the light flys Zou is red hot favourite of course with Paddy Power offering best odds at 2/5 - our Paddy is 100/1 but a wee taste of value is Birzhan Zhakypov at 20/1 at Powers.

Georgy Balakshin is 6/1 at William Hills to win the flyweight gold. Surely its between him, Warren and Jongjohor so 6/1 seems cracking odds! Lee Ok-Sung looks value at 25/1 also.

Bantams - nothing to have a go at unless ya want Murray at 33/1 in Powers

I reckon the Chinese will do well so in the feathers I reckon Li Yang at 7/1 is good value as is Sooltonov at 10/1.

Lightweights - Domenico Valentino at 12/1 in Hills or Pichai Sayotha at 50/1 in Powers

Light welter - regining champion Manus Boonjumnong at 4/1 at Hills is great value imo, Joyce is 200/1 at Centrebet.

Welterweight - Andrade is boiling hot favourite but Bakhyt Sarsekbayev could be worth a sniff at 16/1 in Hills and they have Andrey Balanov at 40/1.

Middleweights - Alfonso Blanco at 10/1 in Powers and Bakhtiyar Artayev at 16/1 in Hills. DeGale and Sutherland are 80/1 and 50/1 at Centrebet

Light Heavy - maybe Jahon Qurbonov at 14/1 or our Kenny at 80/1 (centrebet)!!!

Ali Mazaheri in the heavyweights at 25/1 and a bit of an outsider but experienced Oleksandr Usyk is 33/1 at Betfreds.

Super Heavys - not much happening here but Glazkov is 12/1 at Totes and Kubrat Pulev is 25/1 at Powers"

Scoring was very bad but to be fair Beterbiev lost the plot a bit himself against Zhang, he could still have won it but let it get to him and he completely self destructed to be honest.

Egan did well but have seen all but 2 of the fights so far for various reasons and think Egan gets to the final without too many problems, but may come unstuck there.

He beats Silva in the quarters and then beats Szello or Jeffries in the semi's.

The problem is the bottom half of the draw, you have the dodgy scoring favouring the chinese but not only that the best two fighters left in the competition pair off in the quarters, Kurbanov and Shynaliev.

The winner should have enough to get past Zhang and will meet Kenny in the final.

If I am honest at present reckon Kurbanov beats Egan in the final about 14-5, although I hope for all you boys who have Egan at fancy prices he does not.

Come on Kenny

He is brave and being's he is one away from a medal presumably will give it a go but he won't beat Egan. Egan is 1/5 with bwin.com to beat Silva who is 10/3 Unless Jeffries improves he may go out to Szello in the other quarter in your side of the draw. Egan against Szello is not a gimmee but would still favour your guy.

The final as said may be Kurbanov, look out then for the prices on the final and you can buy out with a tasty profit for no risk and still cheer yer man on for the hell of it.

www.bwin.com have all the divisions - they update the day of the event so the three today will follow later tonight sometime and they are betting on all the quarter finals as well.

Ladbrokes have the divisions under olympic betting and then the boxing bit on that section

Blue Square, bet365, skybet all doing something - you generally have to look under the Olympic section

Have placed a few bets

Got Usyk in the heavyweight at 6/1 generally 3/1 now and as low as 2/1

Backed Kurbanov in Egans division at 10/1 early doors, Cammarelle in the super-heavy at 6/4

Also have just backed Sapiyev in the Light-Welter at Evs, he is 4/9 with Stan James but generally Evs elsewhere.

Still its competitive in the sense the scoring is so poor and therefore I will probably come unstuck but sometimes you have to back your judgement and bite the bullet

Bwin.com is the site for boxing though, they have a great selection of pro fights as well with various markets

Cheers

Really good show of power by Sutherland, i've been impressed by him for a long time.
But the judges were trying to rob him i think, Sutherland must of landed at least 10 punches that were not scored, very dodgy.

Bet the promoters will be queueing up to sign Sutherland to the pro's

Did the job and the favourite has gone out after self destructing in his quarter final Kurbanov was dq'd for biting his opponent, unbelievable really although we should have seen it coming its not the first time he has been dq'd.

But after beating the world champ early on he was looking a decent bet, my wallet does not now agree with that however.

Hope Kenny can win this for you guys who backed him, he must be almost favourite now, fancy him to beat Tony although Jeffries looked better against Szello than he did in his first round match.

Dodgy Chinese scoring again could scupper things tho, Shynaliyev against Egan in the final for me.

Yeah I don't think he has heard of the word "jab" but he's great to watch and can really whack - he's made for the pro's. I would like him to switch to the body a bit more so that he can create openings for his big left hook to the head but its refreshing to see a fighter in the amateurs come to "fight" rather than tip tap their way to a decision.

Egan will be too quick and too cute for Jeffries in the semi final.

That said, its good to know that who ever wins is guaranteed a silver minimum in this tournament!

and now we have another Ireland v Britain semi-final, it's great to know at least 2 of the Irish and British fighters will get Gold or Silver. Obviously I hope it's the Irish fighters but still.

I haven't seen or heard of Darren for a long time until now, but I really want to see him win this.
He certainly looked a talent when he was with Brendan a few years back now and I do know many onlookers were keen for him to go pro and offers were available, but he went home to Ireland.
Good to see the quality sparring he was getting at the time wasn't wasted.
From Footlocker where he worked, to Olympic Champion - go Darren !

He was very gracious in his post-fight interview and wished Degale well, came across as a nice guy.

My brother boxed Sutherland about 10years ago, he beat my bro on points, was a good fight, he was a quality fighter back then, he seemed very full of himself, but later we had a chat he was a nice lad, think i won local boxer of the night he won overall fighter of the night, always knew he would make it big.

Darren didn't get special attention at Wincobank - fact is, no one does or ever has !
He always struck me as quite a reserved lad. He was quite shy when he first came over, but as is usual with gyms, particularly in the North, he began to come out of his shell.
What I meant by the sparring, is that at his time there, he was working with Witter, Rhodes, Nelson, Pickering, Keaton and maybe even Thaxton for a while.
Everyone got to spar with everyone else - that's the way at Wincobank.
I did however note that he had retained some defensive frailties, often a trait of the Sheffield lads but often made up for by speed of reaction and head movement in his latest fight.
Everyone that I know never had a bad word for him.
