Chi will absolutely mullerise Harrison. His handspeed is the factor.

Sure, Chi looked bad when backed up, but Brodie pretty much punched himself out trying to hurt Chi to the body. As soon as he stopped punching, back came Chi.

Chi looks to be getting better, he was pretty inexperienced going in against Morales, and a prime Morales at that, and he's going to give anyone in the division problems.

Pacquaio v Chi would be a great fight, what a war. Chi reminded me a little of Pacquaio at times, I'd love to see him if he was trained by Roach.

Just like Chi mullerised journeyman Baby Lorona not too long ago?

Listen, just because Brodie was stopped doesnt mean Chi is going to start destroying any man who stands in his way

Also, what all this about Chi's handspeed?

Were you watching Chi on fast forward or something?

Chi is hardly Roy Jones, but you would think otherwise the way everyone is overrating him because he beat Michael Brodie

people can only go on what they see mate, and at present Chi is shitloads better than Scott on recent perfomances you cant really argue with the fact he was very impressive on Sat night, im not even sure Harrison would beat Brodie let alone chi after his woeful perfomance against Estrada, if Chi hits harrison as cleanly as Estrada did in the opening rounds you can expect him to wake up sometime the following week.
Fact chi is extremely big at the weigth, fact he is extremely strong, fact he does have good handspeed.
Fact Harrinson CAN BE one dimensional, fact he is one paced at times and fact he doesnt have a plan B.
all in all an early night for chi then

Compared to Harrison, he is Roy Jones, Chi was whipping them in from all angles against Brodie, and never gave him a second to get his breath. The fact is, Chi has acquitted himself more than well in fights against Morales and now Brodie, It isn't telling what he does against a journeyman, especially 4 years ago....

Scott Harrison has absolutely no movement any more, he walks in straight lines and wings away to the head for the most part, that is suicidal against Chi, unless you have the punchpower to deter him. Harrison is not exactly a devastating puncher.

Chi looked very impressive, and his chin is every bit as good as McCulloch's too. The difference is, he isn't over the hill, throws a tonne of shots, and is just as strong as Harrison, with a better shot selection.

Sorry McCoy, but you are in dreamland on this one. Those Aliens must have screwed with your mind if you think Harrison will beat Chi, I just don't see it. Perhaps he would have a chance with a body attack, but he would get hit a lot in return, Harrison's workrate isn't as prodigious as Chi's.

For the record, I have my doubts whether Brodie would last 12 with Morales. He is way too easy to hit, and Morales is a mean bastard when he gets on top.

yip as usual summing up what i was thinking but far more articulately haha
Agree re morales but do you think Harrison would do 12 with Chi or Morales I have my doubts?
Also Medina would get murdered by Chi in my book and harrison struggled well enough with him the first time.
And a little nit pick I thought Morales last outing against Jesus Chavez was his most merciful i mean he could have taken him out but strangely let him go the distance when he was injured ..perhaps his tactics are changing with old(er) age or was Morales injured also??
Thoughts?

Stu, although Chi is a good fighter, he doesnt have a big punch, or blazing hand speed, but he is tough, has a good chin & great stamina & would be a hard fight for Scott

BUT

Scott would outpoint him

Scott has an underrated jab, & can box when he has to

Look how carefully Scott boxed when he faced the big punching Chacon, using his jab & hardly ever dropping his guard

He also boxed the same way against McCullough, taking the fight to both guys, but boxing a controlled, careful fight, & picking his punches perfectly

The Harrison we seen againt Medina(in the rematch) & Estrada was much more wild & looking to bomb out his opponent, with the scottish Daily record saying that if Scott didnt KO Estrada in the first 3 rounds it would be a bad performance

Scott aint a huge puncher, so it was crazy for Scott to go out assuming he could destroy a guy who had never been stopped before but he must have felt a huge amount of pressure in the scottish press

Chi is far from overrated in anywhere in the world apart from Britain where many assume he is such a monster he shouldnt get past customs

People forget how vulnerable Brodie has been looking in the past few years against the likes of the limited Pastor Maurin, & others
Yes, Scott fought much better against Chacon and Wayne than he did in his other world title fights, however in Chacon he was fighting a limited fighter (the Polo fight before showed this) and against McCullough the size differiantial was critical.

Now, I am not saying what your saying about Brodie isn't correct, for me he's always looked vulnerable at Feather, thats why I have never ranked him above Harrison. Perhaps Brodie's vulnerability made Chi look better than what he is, but he also came very close to putting Morales on the canvas and hurt him on several occasions. To do this you must be pretty good.

As for his hand speed, well I was shocked that everytime (in both fights) Brodie tried to outbox Chi he got beaten to the punch - also Morales (who admittedly has got a shocking defence for an all time great) got tagged on several occasions. Harrison's hand speed is probably his worst factor IMO, I think Chi will beat him to the punch.

It was silly of the papers to say what they did as a preview for Scott's last fight, but I didn't like how he looked vulnerable, particularly to the body. Now Estrada was a good fighter, who I'm sure would cause all the brit boys headaches, but I say Chi is similar to Estrada, but better in every department and on a par with him in terms of power.

I think Harrison is taylor made for Chi.
Stu, you say Chacon is a limited fighter, but going in against Harrison he had a 44-2 record, & had KO'd the 20-0 Oscar Leon(who many thought was robbed against Derrick Gainer), the talented Olympic Gold Medallist Istvan Kovacs, who was 20-0(what is it with that damn number?) who Naseem Hamed avoided- McCoy watched the fight on DSF & witnessed Chacon brutally knock out Kovacs in front of Kovacs home fans, one punch turned the whole fight around

Chacon also beat top 10 rated Victor Polo, & although Chacon only just managed to win, he once again hurt his opponent with an uppercut which had Polo staggered, so it shows you the kind of world class power Chacon has, because Polo does have a great chin

Stu, McCoy has the Morales vs Chi fight on tape, & only remembers Chi stunning Morales once in the fight, & although Chi was brave & had the fans on his side, he never won that many rounds, also John Conteh, Steve Bunce, Nicky Piper & Barry McGuigan all said that morales was clearly weight drained(McCoy agrees)

McCoy has also noticed that a few posters including yourself say Harrison looks vulnerable particularly to the body

I say this with no bias whatsoever, but I have NEVER seen Harrison hurt by a body shot, & McCoy has seen all of Scott Harrisons pro contests

I have never seen him even wince, never mind go down to a body shot

Chi is miles better than Estrada, & thats why harrison would show him respect if they ever fought(dont hold your breath)

Chi looked hurt to the body when backed up in his first fight with Brodie, thats worth remembering & Brodie being more of a boxer than a slugger wasnt fighting his normal fight, which is more Scott Harrisons style of fighting

Michael also aint as big & strong as Scott & doesnt have as good a chin

Perhaps Morales was struggling with Chavez' style, even though Chavez was injured. After all, Morlales was moving up in weight, and perhaps he wasn't that confident due to the move, the only explanations I can think of.

However, generally, we have seen what Morlaes does to outclassed or outgunned opponents in his fights against Guty Espadas, Fernando Velardez....

I am not suggesting that Harrison would capitulate as easily as these fighters, he's tough and strong at the weight, but I can see him overwhelming him down the stretch to force a stoppage.

Perhaps Harrison can return to his earlier form, and use his boxing skills more, but I think Chi is the kind of fighter you really have to make respect you early on, and carry on doing so to be able to win.

Brodie's mistake (as I correctly predicted, skills points to me), was to not stand and hold his ground early on. He was too open in retreat, and was getting shellacked right from the off, he didn't have the legs or the skills to stay away from a man with greater power and handspeed.

I think Chi v Harrison would be a great fight, as would Chi v Pacquaio, that would be the irresistable force against the immovable object, and you would definetly want a hospital bed on standby. Pacquaio would be my pick by dint of equal stamina, workrate and greater power, and slight edge in speed, and better movement. Would be fantastic however.

I think Harrison would have to fight a different fight than his last 3 to beat Chi, I am not saying it cannot be done, but I don't think it will.

Still, if he proves me wrong, I would be more than glad to watch, and would be glad to be proven wrong too.

I saw Harrison hanging on for a breather at points in BOTH contests with Medina, and briefly against Estrada, how you cannot see that is beyond me, seeing as you could see Chi struggling against Brodie.

Methinks you have selective vision.

WOW! Harrison takes breather in a fight shocker!!!

Aint it funny how Brodie can be in life or death struggles with Pastor Maurin & be praised for his courage, yet Scott Harrison takes some punches in a fight & is labelled as a one dimensional, overrated, slow, plodding, bum of a fighter

As I have said before, I have never seen Harrison wince with a body shot, & THATS THE TRUTH RUTH!

McCoy never thought it would get to the stage where Scott Harrison is even getting criticized for breathing during a fight, but it has!

It's not unusual to be loved by anyone
It's not unusual to have fun with anyone
But when I see you hanging about with anyone
It's not unusual to see me cry, I wanna die

It's not unusual to go out at any time
But when I see you out and about it's such a crime
If you should ever wanna be loved by anyone
It's not unusual, it happens everyday
No matter what you say
You'll find it happens all the time

Love will never do what you want it to
Why can't this crazy love be mine

It's not unusual to be mad with anyone
It's not unusual to be sad with anyone
But if I ever find that you've changed at any time
It's not unusual, to find that I'm in love with you
Whoa-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh
Whoa-whoa-oh-oh
Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-oh

It's worth remembering that Medina is hardly a puncher....if he can make him hang on for a breather, Chi will make him want an oxygen mask.

I have always thought that Harrison would beat Brodie, but I don't see him doing it in as convincing a fashion as Chi did, he doesn't have the all around attack Chi does.

The reason that Chi was able to finish Brodie so effectivlely, were that his combinations worked up and down the centre line, shifting from head to body and back again, Brodie was always seemingly getting hit somewhere, and even when he covered up, Chi would just keep hammering through his guard.

Brodie isn't as big or strong as Harrison, and Harrison has a more solid chin, but he doesn't really have any tighter a defence, and is perhaps more predictable than Brodie, who can box and bang a bit. Harrison really tends to slug it out, especially lately, though as I said, perhaps he can get back to a more patient style.

Patience doesn't seem like a quality which would phase chi however, you have to hurt him early to stop him attacking.

Chi just seems a machine at present, he just waded through anythign brodsie had and gave back twice as much. I was totally impressed with him and reckon that there arent many out there who would relish a pop at the korean.
As you previously highlighted Pacman would be a good fight but he has enough obstacles arriving at a rate of knots and if reports are true he doesnt seem to be too focussed at this stage.
I wouldnt mind seeing Chi back in with morales you know, reckon that would be a super scrap this time round as well.
We are talking the top echelon here though, theres no disgrace to Scott not being up there at this stage, he is a solid decent world champ but nothign more. If he mixes it with these boys Im afraid he will get found out.

Funny enough I had an email from a guy in Korea looking to trade VHS - he asked for Chi/Brodie 2 - which was a surprise as I thought he was a hero over there and the show would be televised.
Maybe it's a North / South Korea thing.

Anyone know what Chi and Harrison actualy weigh come fight time?
It'd be a helluva fight if it ever happened, but I doubt it'd make cash sense somehow.
