Pinto vs Hatton? Could it happen?
Pinto vs Hatton? Could it happen?
Now, we all heard the interview with Mr Warren and Ian Darke about the chances of Kelson Pinto fighting Hatton in his next fight. It seemed that clear at that particular time that Frank was justifiably upset at Pinto's management team.
Given the fact that some of the accusation done in some articles (read the announcement thread) have been unfounded and given that Pinto was medically unfit to box - I see no reason why the contest cannot be resheduled.

Fair enough, I don't blame him. However, if Pinto was geniunally ill then you can't blame him.
Okay, I don't blame Hatton/Sports Network or anyone else not to feel angered because they could have told him earlier. However, perhaps they didn't know the full extent of the illness themselves?
Only a question.

ricky`s futher on in his career than pinto, imo ricky should fight mitchell next (whom i think he will beat) then try to get a fight with the dominant fighter of his generation (kosta) before he retires.
i think zoo is just about on the verge of doing the same as lennox but given the popularity of ricky (especially if ricky does a number on mitchell) the clamour for this fight on both sides of the atlantic would be huge, and i think zoo would be tempted.
i know a few of our cousins from across the pond would probably disagree but i honestly think ricky would have too much for the aging (but great) champ.
i hope the zoo/ ricky fight doesn`t end up being one of those historic so near but so far senario`s a` la barry mcguigan / azumah nelson.
i feel the old warrior zoo has already made up his mind though.

he`d be better than n`dou or spadafora or the other names being bandied about.
if i was witter i would go the states and try and start campaigning against the big names i.e gatti, judah (again), cotto, mitchell etc.
at his age he has nothing to lose and it would be a public relations coup if he was mixing in this company while ricky continues to be matched with fighters outside of the top 5.

I don't think Frank has a problem with a contracted fighter becoming ill.
But the information coming from Pinto's team was a Joke.
If there man is ill, get on the phone, let frank know. Job done.
But they were mucking him about for a week, various excuses, then pulled the doctors note out last minute (some would say to prevent breach of 'contract' claims).
For whatever reason they decided not to come, they way they conducted themselves caused FW (and Showtime) maximum grief and I would be truely shocked if he had anything to do with them again.

Not in a million years can I see Pinto being invited back by Warren, Sky, or Showtime.
What I'd love to know is exactly why Pinto pulled out. I think the claim of sickness is obvious bollocks, I'm sure it's piss easy to bung some quack 50 quid to say you aren't fit to travel or fight.
If he was indeed Ill, they would have surely let allegedly know well in advance of the actual date.
Seeing as apparently they never even asked for more money, according to Sports Networ, I find it all a bit mystifying.
How come neither Pinto nor Maldondo nor Golden Boy promotions have released any form of statement either, it's all a bit strange....

Get real people Pederson was training in the Peacock gym a week before it was annouced that Pinto wasnt fighting so SPORTS NETWORK knew he wasnt coming but if that information was released 7-10 days before the fight the walk up paying customers wouldnt have bothered. The bad publicity generated for a week would have killed the show.
So even up until weds thurs Warrens press officer was still saying PINTO was coming.

You can fool all the public some of the time,
some of the public all of the time,
but never all of the public all of the time. But as you can see someone is bending that rule, and soon it may just snap.
