A Primo Carnera Question.

Last night I finished reading the book ' Primo The Story Of Man Mountain Carnera' by Frederic Mullally. It's a well written book that appears to be very well researched. However it's left me with this question.

I'd always been lead to understand that at one point of Carnera's career he was trained by Jack and Dick Gutteridge, the 'Gutteridge Twins' who were father and uncle to Boxing writer and longtime TV commontater Reg, in fact Reg talks about this in his enjoyable autobiography Uppercuts and Dazes.

However in the Primo book the Gutteridge twins aren't mentioned even once.

Can anyone shed some light on this matter?

The Gutteridge twins worked as seconds in corners of visiting fighters. That may explain it.
