Australian P4P list
Re: Australian P4P list
Katsidis
Mundine
Darchinyan
Geale
Ndou
Bika
Soliman
Meehan
Dawson
Asiku
Medley
DeMori
Porky
Kickett
Dib
went for a top 15.
I ended up leaving StClaire off because he is on the slippery slope.
Medley's next fight makes or breaks him (not a tune up I mean)
I'd like to see if Asiku is up to StClaire now. He has improved since last time and StClair has gone backwards.
Kickett can only go up.
I've put N'dou a little higher. A couple of fights ago he was a genuine world champ and nearly got it back last fight.
I'm not really sure about Dib yet. A step up in class will see if he can focus.
Kat is still the man in my eyes, but next fight (not tune up) is critical as well to remaining top of the list.

Re: Australian P4P list
bump.
maybe we should make it a joint effort marlin? what ya think?
anyways hers my list
1. Vic Darchinyan - Back on top of the list, beat a reigning world champ to secure world title in a second weight class.
2. Anthony Mundine - Still fighting mostly poor opposistion, but for the most part looks good doing it, lol.
3. Micheal Katsidis - a win over Diaz would be huge, but i just cant see it. hop he proves me wrong tho.
4. Sakio Bika - needs to capitalize on winning the contender, rumpurs of a mundine fight are pleasing
5. Daniel Geale - rising fast, would like to see him in against a top 15 MW, someone like joval, Locket, McKart ect.
6. Sam Soliman - probably seen better days, tho gave mundine all he could handle in their trilogy bout, next year or two will be very intresting, specially if he goes back to 160
7.Lovemore N'dou - fought well agaisnt a one handed malignaggi
8. Willie Kickett - contreversial points win over proven world class fighter in st claire. still plenty of potential tho
9. Billy Dib - again, a contrevesial last fight (tho with a inferior opponent to kicketts) should really head back to america.
10. Daniel Dawson - havent heard anything recently, but i alwats tought he was a good fighter
Honestly guys, thats a poor list imo. dosent help that we've lost two lock ins for top ten spots in the last year (green and briggs) but its still pretty weak.
there are some guys that some will argue should be on here instead of others eg:Asiku, st clare

No worries thunder, if I get a bit free time today I'll see what I can do...
Re: Australian P4P list
i have never had a real go at doing a p4p list as i tend to be more biased toward fighters i know, but having said that i can not understand how ppl dont have Tauasa in there to 10.

everyone is biased. a biased list is better than no list at all.huricn wrote:i have never had a real go at doing a p4p list as i tend to be more biased toward fighters i know, but having said that i can not understand how ppl dont have Tauasa in there to 10.

i don't think paul briggs should be on there becoz of his inactivity...but nor should green as he has "officially" retired...
as for top 3 - i'd have vic, kat, then mundine.

1. Vic . Just destroyed a title holder. one loss and everyone forgets about him. Been treated harshly by the aussie public.
2. Katsidis. Heart and balls. His chin worries me. The problem with his chin is, unlike Mundine he doesn't have the defensive skills to cover it. But i hope he stops Diaz.
3. Mundine. Number 3, and potentially going lower. If he fights another club fighter, he drops out of the top 5. In saying that, if he looks good and wins against Bika or Sturm next, he goes to number 1, or 2 if Kat beats Diaz.
4. Sakio Bika. I feel hes a late bloomer. And potentially a future champion at 168.
5. Daniel Geale. A work in progress.

Re: Australian P4P list
We need a bit of consistency in voting for this to work... we have top five's, top three's, top ten's, top 15's etc
To do this properly anyone who wants to participate should post a top ten and we can go from there... Should I start a new thread?

Re: Australian P4P list
Here is my first ever attempt at a p4p list
1. Mundine
2. Rocky
3. Vic
4. Tauasa
5. Geale
6. Ndou
7. Asiku
8. Kickett
9. Dib
10. Zappa.
As u might be able to tell I am a little biased but after spending time in the gym with Tauasa I feel there is no one in oz or the asia region that could match him.
I have seen him sparr some of our best heavy weights down to some of our best middle weights and he has had it all over all of them. my list is 100% baised on skill. not on level of opponents or heart
1. Mundine
2. Rocky
3. Vic
4. Tauasa
5. Geale
6. Ndou
7. Asiku
8. Kickett
9. Dib
10. Zappa.

perhaps to get the ball rolling everyone who is interested should just post your top ten in a simple format and leave commenting on others lists untill a compiled list has been made.

2. Mundine
3. Darchinyan
4. Geale
5. Ndou
6. Bika
7. Soliman
8. Meehan

10. Porky

edit: The guy in 3 has potential to be in No1 spot, but until he cashes the checks his mouth writes he stays in 3....vic and kat have achieved more and put australian boxing on the map.
I wanted Solo in there but we'll see how he goes against couser.
and Dib is lucky to get a 6th spot but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, as for meehan i cant get the williams fight out of my mind.

Good start, I like it. To help with the consistency of what Marlin's trying to do could you get the second list to 10 people?Ultimateboxa2 wrote:

4. Bika
5. Geale

my first go at this if i have another go at this i could probly make slight amendments to the list but im pretty happy with it at the moment.
i put soliman ahead of choc cause i think he was robbed 2 out of the 3 fights. And i snuck omotoso in because he looked brilliant at knox last night and he has more power and better movement than dibb.

I found what Solimans manager did after there 3rd fight was shallow. And all it does is lie to the aussie boxing public and degrades the sport in this country.
Heres what happened in all 3 fights.
1. Sams workrate was high as usual. Sam won 3-4 rounds. The anti-Mundine crowd once again swayed everyone. I still had Mundine winning this fight by 1-2 rounds. By memory Mundine finished the stronger.
2. Mundine totally demolished Soliman. A perfect right hand. Followed by to much power and speed. The fight was lobsided, as we all know. If Mundine was to fight like that on the world stage, i find it hard that anyone other than Calzaghe and Kessler could beat him. And i think he would have been competitive with both of them.
3. Mundine once again controlled the tempo of the fight. Just so you know, an absolute majority of Solimans punches were hitting Mundines gloves and elbows. Mundine landed the more accurate and powerful punches. And once again, even though Mundine wasn't at his best, because he tried to mirror his performance in the 2nd fight and Sam came ready, Mundine still won the fight by 4 rounds.
I find it hard for someone to call a fight a robbery if it could have gone either way. But realistically all 3 fights were given wins to the correct fighter.
And if you have Soliman above Mundine, i just can't take you serious. And even though im being judgemental, some people hate Mundine for various reasons and can't give him the credit that he deserves. I presume your a hater.
