Oh right, so it was actualy Wlad slamming left hooks onto his own glass jaw was it? I must have been confused.BubiScholz wrote:Brewster didn´t prove a shit. Wlad beat himself alone. Brewster showed nothing in 4 rounds. in the 5th he just had to watch how Wlad runned out of gas.
So if Wlad beat himself, shouldn't that go down as a win?

You could go on about fighters ducking others all the time, but I reckon it's mostly down to promoters and the fighters egos more than anything. RJJ would thinks he's worth more financially than DM and vice versa, Ottke thought he was worh more than Calzaghe and so on........BubiScholz wrote:jones´opponents weren´t better. Eubank beat Rocky in his own back yard. And in turn Eubank would go nowhere near RJJ, so I doubt very much Roy Jones would be worried about Rocky.

Bullshit, Bubi. Remember, Jones started as a middle/supermiddleweight and beat 2 guys there who are far better than any DM has faced, much less beaten, much, much less beaten fair and square. No disrespect to Rocky, but even a weight-drained Toney at 168 was light-years better than Rocky ever was. And the first time DM faced Rocky, a natural 168-pounder and with DM in his prime, he had to cheat to win! (This was on the heels of DM's fabulous blatant-robbery win over the lightly-regarded Bruno Girard, BTW).BubiScholz wrote:jones´opponents weren´t better. At light-heavy, the ONLY top guy DM ever faced who hadn't already had the snot beaten out of him by Jones was Virgil Hill, in a competitive fight and probably DM's best fight as a pro. And we all know what Jones did to Hill a few months later. After that it was all Jones leftovers and Eurostiffs with padded records for DM. And notice he was rather selective about even the RJJ leftovers - never faced Reggie Johnson or Eric Harding, for instance. Hall (who couldn't even touch Jones in their fight a few years back) gave DM hell in not one, but 2 fights, with DM winning by (of course) highly questionable stoppage. And of course Jones shutout victim Gonzalez actually managed to beat DM in (of course) Germany, except according to the sole German judge for that fight - smart of Gonzalez' camp to allow at most one judge from Germany. And did DM make any effort to fight Tarver? Not on your life, bro. The only way we'd ever see DM vs. Tarver would be if Jones smashed Tarver's skull in in their upcoming rematch.
Don't get me wrong - DM was a decent champion and overall the second-best light-heavy of the past decade, but the only real titles he ever won were vs. Hill, and he didn't defend those even once. No, he and Kohl ditched the respected major titles (or allowed them to be stripped without much fuss, e.g. in the case of the IBF belt) in order for DM to keep his precious WBO strap, because Kohl likes playing the same kinds of selling-a-lesser-title-as-a-real-world-title games his English counterpart Warren does.
Oh, Bubi, do you know who was sitting ringside when Jones broke Hill in half with that shot to the ribs? Yep - Dariusz was there. He'd been calling out Jones at that point, but scurried back to Germany right quick after that, and was rather quiet for a while, before the Universum propaganda machine started up again.

We will never know who was or is better. they never fought against. nowadays Jones is stronger, but maybe in the end-90´s Dariusz was better. who knows. but hey, RJJ also didn´t leave his home base. there was no fight outside the US. And we don´t know how a Rocky-fight would have ended. it´s just speculation.
