Pro boxing is just as corrupt!! And its virtually impossible to win in another fighters hometown as a pro, unless you KO your opponent. At least some of the Chinese boxers lost decisons. That being said I think the judging in amatuer boxing is defently flawed. But people will always complain, even if an absolutely flawless system comes about, people love to complain.
At least there is a chance of a rematch, the punchers chance it's a whole different ball game it's sometimes involves money and business which in some cases ruins the sport but when the public pressure is on and the good unification fights are done you could appreciate who is the better fighter.
In the Amateurs internationally it's not the case, specially in tournaments like the Olympics and World Championships, the bracket system is based on luck and many times the best fighters turn out fighting each other in the prelimanary rounds, giving the right to weakest medalist down the road and how about the corruption, at least like I said previously in the pro's there is a chance of a rematch in the amateurs it's almost impossible. The judging of one fight makes a huge difference because it may be the only chance you'll have to fight for a medal unless you stay for another loooonnngggg four years. It's hard to see good fighters get robbed after making such a sacrifice, wait for all those years to be in the Olympics representing your country and few corrupt jugdes take that away from you.
That's why corruption in amatuer boxing looks even worst becuase at least in the pros you get paid.
