Do you think Kickett and Dib will win a world title?

Post by Ultimateboxa2 »

I have changed my tone, watching Kicketts performance for the 2nd time on Saturday night.

He didn't have enough power to get that Featherweight out of there. The same as Dib, not enough power there.

Im leaning to Dib if they ever fought.

But i doubt either will win a world title. Out of the 4 main belts.

Anyone else agree? Or is it just to early to judge this?

Your post was the crap one.

I gave you 6-7 lines of boxing info. My thoughts.

This is a boxing forum right?

Well go on. Tell me what your answer is. Because so far you haven't contributed to the thread! :TU:

You need power to keep your opponent on the back foot. If you have no power, your opponent will walk straight through you.

UB2,
Mate many of the great boxers have been counterpunchers. They dont need to be on the front foot to win fights as long as they can land more punches than there opponent.

Roy Jones had power but used boxed off the back foot more than the front foot, James Toney also fights off the back foot. Mayweather, Judah , Mudine all fight majority of there fights off the backfoot.

I just want to know whether you think they will win world titles, and who would win if they fought. Kind of thing.

Handful of amateur fights. Got injured. And since then its just gym work and training. Still love the sport though.

fine mate, i'm cool with that. and thats what i'm trying to tell you. if thats what you want to know, just say that. it sounds like you are trying to score points all the time, i just dunno what to say sometimes man. i like kickett purely because of his hand speed, not impressed by dib, unfortunately i think he now believes in the hype instead of working harder. one of the main world titles??? shit, they are so hard to come by..... our guys have to work during the day to pay bills so i always think we are on the backfoot with total preparation.

Dibb is IBO world champ and there trying to hype up a super fight between Dibb and Kickett at the moment.... I think Kickett will beat Dibb when they fight so therfore both will be world champs on day.

dib no.someone will catch up with him real soon.well actually someone already did just the judges didnt see it.someday soon the judges wont be able to help him.

kickett-i would like to think so do believe he can.a bit more power would help his quest but as have others have noted you dont need power to win world titles.still has much to learn but a big talent no doubt.

dib vs kickett- kickett by a good margin(possibly result determined by who pays the judges the most)

I was pretty shocked when i found out Kickett lost something like 10 amateur fights out of 30.

to be honest UB2...u have to start giving the IBO some credibility...i know we all wish we could be back in the days when there were only 3 world titles (ok 4 if u include the wbo), but the IBO has hatton, tarver, klitschko as champions so u cant really dismiss dib as not being a world champion already.

I give it credibility but in certain divisions.

E.G if someone was to beat Dib, no credibility. As well as Geale. Well some credibility but not a lot at all.

If someone beat Tarver, then you have a world championship there. Klitschko etc etc.

it helps if u can beat c level guys like gary st clair though...not just scrape highly contentious decisions

best hope for kicks is a scrap with dib and a big earner against Amir Kan

I gave Gary Saint Clair the fight by 2-3 rounds.

Kickett was on the backfoot a lot. He landed a lot less clean punches.

And even though the commentators made out he was a lot more powerful. There wasn't that much of a difference in power i thought. And St Clair won to me.

When comparing both decisions, i think both may have been equally as bad.

Just because they hand out belts it dosnt make them a legit organisation.

I personally only rate the WBC ,WBA, IBF and there Affilliated bodies ie OPBF and PABA

and am coming around to the WBO but dont like some of the things they do in the UK especailly.

Kickett is still early in his career though. And he fought StClair at 130 which is his natural weight unlike Khan he made him come up a weight. Khan looked huge next to StClair and Kickett was only marginly bigger than StClair.

Khan boxed to a Silver medal, Kickett lost 10 out of 30 amature fights. Kickett has been stepping up slowly and 5 pounds is a huge diffrence at 130-135. Khan is a huge 135 pounder and Kickett is an average sized 130 pounder.
Kicketts biggest asset is his ability to slip punches and make his opponent miss, He landed hard punches a few times the other night but the Argie was tough and took them all. I cant see Kickett ever fighting Khan as Khan is more likely to move up to 140 and Kickett is comfortable at 130.
