Paddy DeMarco: Is he worthy for the hall of fame?

Post by elmersalsa »

This is another boxer that we seldom talk about. Lightweight world champion Paddy DeMarco. I see that he had an excellent career in the late 40s and early 50s. He beat the great Sandy Saddler twice after Saddler stopped him in 9 rounds in their first meeting.

Is Paddy DeMarco in your view worthy for the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY?

I'd say there are a few other more deserving fighters who haven't made it in, but DeMarco's got better credentials than a couple guys who are already in. Don't forget he also beat HOF'ers Billy Graham and Jimmy Carter, and several other top fighters like Kenny Lane and Ralph Dupas, plus quite a few more.
