Michael Gomez- you beauty

Post by Chambers »

Did anyone see Gomez on ringside last night? he is looking in tip-top shape, you can visibly see that his physique has improved since fighting Arthur. He also looked impressive in the ring from what I saw of his latest performance against the African geeza.

He seems to have got his head back into boxing and you can tell he is oozing confidence after beating Arthur and getting himself fully fit. I haven't seen him interviewed that much, but I thought he came across well. If you like your boxers so full of rage that they are about to pop Gomez is your man.

I love Michael Gomez and I can't wait for the Arthur rematch in Manchester. Does anybody know if Kevin Lear is fit again?

I bet Corrales keeps avoiding Gomez

lol... Gomez called Corrales out!

You have to love Gomez. From what I saw, the african looked pretty poor. Gomez just stayed in the pocket throwing shots. That's his style, but has he got the chin?

Cheers. If Lear-Gomez comes off for June 5th and they stick Ricky in with a good opponent, it'll be a cracking nights boxing. The yanks don't know what their missing

I agree with McGuigans take on Gomez. He looked like the fighter he was back when he was first fighting for the British title. I think it's good to see him in this type of form, it makes for a much more interesting British scene, with Johanneson, Doherty, Lear and Arthur all decent potential opposition. Should be some cracking fights down the line.

I bet he's not so nice if you get on the wrong side of him. He looks hard as nails.

Well, for those of you who missed the post-fight interview, he called out "Diego Carlos". Queue much Guffawing from his corner men. When someone corrected him he squeaked, "Whatever his name is, I wanna fight him".

Class.

Fighting better than ever under Billy Graham. I suppose the game plan will be Kevin Lear in June, and after he gains inevitable revenge over the rusty Londoner, a rematch with Arthur in the Autumn.
So he'll still be champion by the end of the year.
