YES I do get frustrated at times.Try to keep to myself.Think it was soliman/mundine 2 and was watching at big ppub with big crowd when some grossly overweight and ignorant tosser started mouthing off racist shite about mundine.for some reason he decided i was his ally and felt the same about aborigines until after a period of time of ignoring him i got really angry and told the goose to shut his f***ing hole or i would. think it was his comment that he could beat mundine in a fight.now even though i am no mundine fan anymore this tool could not land a punch on a dead cow.dont like to lose it but this guy really got me pissed off. and considering i am a joke of a male specimen this wanker wouldnt even go me.find the racist bollox u get with pissed yobbos hard to take.

I dont usaully go to watch boxing at the pub unless a few mates are going. My local is alright but there are to many dickheads( boxing experts) there and without a doubt i will end up telling someone to shut there mouth.

I got the shits with a bloke at the pub in Mudgee once during the first Mundine v Soliman fight. He had a notepad and pen and was counting the punches thrown. Kept going on every round about how easily Soliman was winning the fight. I kept telling him throwing a thousand punches a round doesn't win you the fight if they don't land. Kept telling him to put his notepad away and just watch the bloody fight. He was flabbergasted when I told him after the last round that I had Mundine by a point..... He didn't think Mundine had won a round, he cried blue murder when Choc got the decision.

It was a close fight and I can understand how some people might have had Soliman winning the fight, but this guy just had no clue.

Mind you I live in WA now and it was great going to the pub to see the Mundine v Green fight and being the only person cheering for Mundine.

Funniest thing I've ever seen in a pub when watching boxing was in a Darwin when Mundine beat Echols, the pub just started an impromptu national anthem to celebrate......

australia does have a racism problem - REVERSE racism problem....i personally feel that indigineous australians bring race into situations where race isnt even an issue. mundine himself is very guilty of that.

i was walking thru a park in sydney once...he one opposite central station and was abused (verbally) by about a dozen aboriginals dinking whisky. i was called a white c*nt etc etc and was advised to leave the park or get seriously hurt.

on a day to day basis i see the aboriginal people being offered a lot of support and chances to better themselves but they continue to relish in their role as the victim.

i was at the mudnine green fight and saw nothing untoward being said about mundine....and in fact i also saw a lot of white folks asking lionel rose for his autograph and listening to his stories.

i know this prolly isnt the place to vent these opinions but i just feel aboriginals should stop playing the victim and bringing race into things all the time....

mundine isnt disliked because of his ethnicity, hes disliked because of his arrogance and his blatant hatred toward white people.

Guys lets get serious here. Aboriginals are the victims. I mean sure we said sorry.

But this was there country. There land. We came here, brought the alcohol, the convicts, diseases, and everything spread from there.

Aboriginals had lived in harmony for thousands of years before we got here.

They deserve more respect this is there land. The notion of terra nullius is totally false. And even though the WIK verdict, was over ruled by Howard and his ten point plan in the late 1990's, Aboriginal have been treated so harshly.

Racism still exists. The racism whites suffer from now, is mere a response, and defence action. From the decades of racism suffered by Aboriginals.

I was at the Green fight. You couldn't hear a thing depending on where you were sitting. I managed to sit in the middle of a Green fan base, around 1000 people. Even though im no big Green fan. More of a Mundine fan. And Mundine put up with a lot of shit. He heard it aswell. During the 11th round i think, he looked back at the group and poked his tongue out!

The man doesn't drink, doesn't smoke. He has a top work ethic. And he has achieved more than we would have expected him to achieve.

No matter what happens from now on, hes a legend of Australian sport, and always will be.

It won't be until hes retired, until he gets this recognition.

"legend of australian sport"-i totally disagree.An excellent athlete-no question. A legend -no. Has the potential to be in boxing but think that bird has flown.He was a good league player but so flawed defensively that it took away from his many merits offensively.
as a boxer well i think the last 2 years have tarnished what could have been.and being a fighter who depends on his awesome speed age will become his enemy.Especially if he meanders meaninglessly as he has been of late.I also consider him a selfish man professionally(not personally in as far as what he does for charity).He also has NO humility or class.however that could be harsh and perhaps more based on recent antics(though who could forget his crap pree Ottke fight).He seemed respectful to Ellis post their fight.I also saw him at Hookesy funeral in a very respectful mode,albeit like all there sombre and sad frame of mind.

I think you just have one thing wrong mate... I dont think the dislike for Mundine is due to his hatred of white people I think it's just because he is an Aussie boxer who is not having a real go but has a big mouth and claims to take on the best and be the best when he clearly does not...

I think we would all like to see him reach his potential with his fists rather than his mouth and for that he will get respect

I dislike Mundine as a boxer as stated above due to the "I'm the best, listen to me" attitude he has, without consistently fighting the best. He's done it a couple of times, but they're outweighed greatly by the chances lost or ignored, IMO. Kessler 2 is one of these, if he fought him again and even won, it could have opened up a lot more opportunities (especially if he did it a year or so ago). He wants the fame and fortune but doesn't want to put the hard fights in, he wants to do it the easiest way possible. I can't respect that, he's got the talent - fight the best, prove your worth and you'll find that you'll be accepted more openly, have a much higher support rate (even the haters aren't paying to see your fights anymore) and even become a national sporting (and aboriginal) icon in everyone's eyes. Your popularity would eclipse Green's. It would rival Kostya's, some of the old time greats, etc. You'd be the male version of Cathy Freeman. But you let your ego get in the way. Yes you might do charity work and spout the occasional "help the black man" type speech, but it doesn't have the same effect it could have. Waste of talent, waste of potential.

As far as the reverse racism comments go. I believe the reverse racism these days, from my experience, is worse than racism, but I feel there's a valid (although not acceptable) reason behind it. I believe that because the ethnic, whether it be aboriginal, asian, middle eastern, whatever, elders copped it so bad in past generations, hatred of white man has been passed down and taken up by the latest generation. Kind of like what our grandfather's would have had passed down to them about the aboriginal. What I do hate however is that currently seems to be a culture in society where it's fine for ethnics to hate white people, but for a white person to hate an ethnic is considered pure evil because of the past misdeeds/bad treatment. This I find is the worst thing. Racism is racism regardless of who's hating who and should not be tolerated regardless.

BTW, that person obviously didn't follow boxing, everyone knows the best boxer Adelaide has ever produced was Kostya Tszyu. I remember watching his first ever amateur bout at age 6 in Norwood. He lost that one but he looked good.
