Cotto has to get past a world class opponent on May 8 first.

A win over Omar Weis or Lovemore N'dou will get Hatton right back in there.

I would'nt be suprised if Cotto loses his next fight.

NOBODY should right off valenzauela in this one. He's a fu*king monster, almost a mini Mayorga. :o

No, you're not wrong, mate. Think of the two 'German' fighters who've lost decisions in Germany recently. One was Dariusz Michalczewski and now Urkal. Both Michalczewski and Urkal, while popular in Germany, are of foreign extraction who fought for Poland and Turkey respectively as leading amateurs.
There's no way a born and bred German would concede a close decision there.

I added up my scorecard cockeyed ( WBC job maybe? ) I had it 114-113 Harris. A lot of close rounds so it wouldn't have been outrageous if Urkal had gotten it. Good on the judges tonight.
Ref was Stan Christo???? the S African :D

Harris looked a bit vunerable to a big shot - his legs are really thin, but he's a vicious puncher alright. Urkal showed alot of heart in there.
He'd give Hatton hell.

I have a tape of the German show if anyone wants to trade another fight for it?

Yeah, you have to admire someone like Urkal for fighting Tszyu and now Harris and giving it everything he's got. To me, two close defeats to the best mean more than a whole series of naff wins.

They're showing a truly bizzare fight now - Marcelo Dominguez really looks like a dwarf in there, craning his neck up to see the 7 foot 2" Nikolai Valuev.
Called The Beast From The East - and I can see why! :o He's absolutely huge, like Primo Carnera. Has a sloping forehead that juts out, the poor guy could play Frankenstein's monster with no make up!

Not a great prospect by the looks of it. Obviously a bit slow being such a big guy, and easy to hit - The Argie is jumping in and landing shots with little trouble. The giant's punches aren't bothering him either.
Looks like a novelty act they're building up for a fall.

Yeah the guy is truely massive. I read he used to be an enforcer for the KGB, don't know if that is true or not.

I saw one of his fights a few years ago on TV, Valuev looked very slow and seems to lack power for such a huge guy. I think most top 10 guys would beat him.

yeah i've seen his record quite a few times and it makes me think they know his level, cos he hasn't ventured above national level in over 10 yrs as a pro.

they need to put him in with a timo hoffman or maybe an audley harrison.

From Per Aake Persson:
"Harris v Urkal drew 4,24 million viewers on ARD giving it a market share of 33,4 %"
The fight started around 11.30 PM local time so it a pretty good rating, seems like its not just Ottke that the german public is interested in.
