Post by adamheight »

a lot of aussies ive spoken to think mundine deserves to be higher than froch.

Where are you getting these rankings from? Boxrec has Mundine @ #3 and Froch @ #5.

I think i sent you a list Adam of who Mundine would beat thats world class. Out of 10 fighters. I think i said 4 or 5. Being Sturm, Jermain Taylor, Hopkins, Froch. The rest Pavlik, Calzaghe, Kessler all beat him.

But look at Frochs record. It tells you everything.

Mundines evasive techniques are way to good. And he will hit him with lead rights all night. A wide UD. It will be similar to the Green fight. Going by Frochs videos that i have watched. He has no defence (Froch).

As far as skills go, there is one superior fighter. Will this fight ever happen? Nah.

Havnt seen Froch fight but if mundine is on his game he is very fast and that could pla right into mundine scoring a mid rounds stoppage, if he is tenative ala Scicca then from what i read Froch s aggression would over whelm him. just my opinion.

he couldn't stop Kim who not even a top 50 Middleweight or Super. Froch hits hander than Kim and a better
overall fighter. Mid-round KO by Mundine

Mundine wouldn't KO Froch, who has a very good chin (he's never been down as a pro and possibly also as an amateur). Therefore, Mundine's only chance of victory is through a decision. Froch is an extremely accurate and powerful puncher and if he landed flush on Mundine I think that could be the end of it. If Mundine can be illusive enough then he can win on points.

ub2 im amazed u say this with such confidence seeing as mundine has never beaten any true world class opposition. solomon and green were up there but never proper world beaters....not only that he has been beaten by non world class opposition as well. one judge scored the kessler fight a shutout (although it probably wasn't) - and kessler has only gotten better since that fight where as mundine has stalled.

mundine makes decent money over here in oz fighting no names, so y would he risk all that by stepping up and getting beat. he knows this and that's why he doesn't step up.....the manfredo fight will never materialize but nor will any other high profile fight.....he offers them crap money to come to oz to fight him, that way when they turn it down he can say "theyre ducking me"! lol

The same thing that happens when Kessler lands. But i do think Mundine can go the entire fight against Froch, without getting tagged more than 5 times. Such is his defensive skills and Frochs limited arsenal and combinations.

Kim had a good chin. I don't think any MW other than Pavlik would have stopped him. Mundine hit him with some bombs.

Damm it i just deleted a lot of writing. I had heaps typed up.

Never the less, Mundine can beat world class fighters. Fighters who do not have a combination of power and skill. As soon as Froch gets the belt, Mundine should pounce on him. Hes an unproven champion. And Mundine has experience and the skills to make Froch look like an RSL fighter. The decision will be very wide.

To me Mundine can beat Hopkins, a fighter with a low workrate. He can stop Sturm. He can beat Jermain Taylor on points, Mundines defence will confuse the shit out of Taylor. I have watched Taylor struggle against fighters with excellent defensive and evasive techniques.

118-110 (Mundine).

After the first couple of rounds. The difference in class will be evident.

P.S Sure Mundine hasn't beat any world class fighters yet. But i mean, its just a matter of time.

I think you're seriously underestimating Carl Froch. I'm unsure of Froch's potential on the World stage, but he has very good accuracy and an amazing uppercut. Mundine would have to stay on the outside and keep on his toes or he would be in trouble.

Mundine won't fight any world class fighters FULL STOP

He had a mandated fight with Kessler for a real belt and he turned it down. That says it all.

Mundine is a proven fighter. Carl Froch is not. If anyones tipping Carl Froch in this one. Mundine is being under rated.

I have doubts as to whether Carl Froch could beat Danny Green.

I mean its easy to look good against these RSL type fighters.

Mundines game and his chin lift for big fights.

While many Ozzy boxing fans are angry. It might turn out in a few years to have been a good move. Only time will tell.

Seriously mundine is a disgrace to Australia and Australians, he dogged it and would not fight Kissler, he can NEVER be taken seriously again - fighters fight, dont run and hide when a credible opponent steps up, mundine is a side show now a bad for boxing
