I hope the canvass was as padded as his long unbeaten record.

Yes! Fields, Sosnowski and now, best of all, Greenberg bites the dust.
All we need now is for JD Chapman, Malik Scott and Faruq Saleem to suddenly get brave too.

Re: Greenburg
Damn. 2nd round knockout. That's stunning. I never expected Roman Greenberg to become heavyweight champion or anything, but still. Cedric Boswell? Wow
Was this shown on TV at all? Would be interested to see how it came about at some point...

Re: Greenburg
What a satisfying feeling. I'm itching to see this on youtube.
I saw Boswell outbox Mcline until running out of gas but not since then so i assumed he'd gone totally downhill.
What's the story behind this did the Secondsout guy's rich Israeli money men pull the plug so they had to take a real fight?

Re: Greenburg
This loss might do The Greenbird some good. If he goes back to feeding on guys like Damon Reed etc it won't but if his management think screw it lets continue to put him in with decent fighters he might improve. Then again it is Greenburg - what was I thinking. But he should dye his hair green and call himself Roman "The Greenbird" Greenburg. Will strike fear into the hearts of his..er...opponents.

Protected fighters are protected for a reason.
Greenburg largely flattered to deceive. This has been a longtime coming IMO.
Secondsout carry a brief assessment of the fight:

Re: Greenburg
Now we know for certain why the Vitali Klitschko fight never came off. Imagine, it would have been a bloodbath! I was surprised to see BN picking Roman on points as i fancied Boswell for this job, although never expected a second round KO. Youtuuuuube please
Re: Greenburg
i thought exactly the same ant, greenburg would claim 3 pages of headlines on seconds out if he broke wind !!
now he has been exposed, and incidentally the internet 'anoraks' saw this happening about 6 years ago!! we can hopefully not hear anymore boll***s about potential match ups with world ranked fighters. thank god the circus is over !!!!!

Cedric Boswell is my fighter of the month for August.
I wonder how many sycophants Roman has ringing him this morning?

Ant Evans wrote:Anyone want to doubt my earlier posts about Haye, Sprott (twice), Holden etc knocking Greenberg out in sparring after this?
Boswell was the first half decent (ok, one-sixth decent) heavyweight Greenberg has fought in seven long years and, as sure as night following day, he gets exposed like a pervert in a raincoat. As a fellow former SecondsOut writer - who also had to deal with Robert Waterman's BS about 'first billion dollar heavyweight' - texted me last night "Four years too late to put him in with someone who could cup a fist".
Roman had talent, he handled Michael Sprott etc in sparring when he was a teenager. But that was eight long years ago. That early rep as a young heavyweight who could do something, coupled by the fact he's a Jew (and rich businessmen from Jewish communities like to support their own) enabled him to earn a nice living for the last 8 years but the ride is over. He never got in shape, never tried to improve and from what I can tell, never really listened to anyone or anything that didn't sound like full-on cheerleading.
That SecondsOut chose to write up this calamity in less than 300 words after becoming exact cheerleaders for Greenberg says all you need to know about the quality of that site nowadays.
anyone could have seen a boswell KO.... a lot did
as for sparring rumours? they should be kept to an OT section......they are worse than the Ali and Hagler knockers in terms of pointlessness
as for greenberg ...in his early stint on the beeb alongside audley he did seem ok...def too seasoned for Aforce to take on...but he developed into a fat slow and totally listless fighter
Donnel and Chapman to fall next please
Re: Greenburg
I never took any real notice and just assumed that Roman was a Monte Carlo casino type fighter.
It just seems like the mindsets of Heavyweights is just lousy nowadays, with only Vitali & Vlad and maybe Haye actually looking like an athlete of sorts.

Re: Greenburg
Funny thing, I was looking for some Sparring and rung Jim up asking who was available He mentioned Greenburg. I said teriffic I had this Amatuer Heavy 8 bout boy, I was asked what His name was. I replied and got the answer He is a Bit Hot and Romans just come back in Training.
