:o You don't say??!! Sorry Rhino, couldn't resist that as it hardly constitutes a major surprise does it? Hayemaker have entered the shark pool now so that's exactly what they should be expecting... despite the ambiguities surrounding how he'll perform as a heavyweight, he may still find matters inside the ring prove to be far easier to deal with than those outside it...

Based upon top 10 Europeans in one of the 4 major santioning bodies:

Virchis
Dimitrenko
Golota
Valuev
Bidenko
Liakhovich
POvetkin
Ibragimov
Maskaev
Boytsov

Obviously some are busy now.

It's tempting to go. This would also coincide nicely with David appearing on Buncey's show on Thursday.

I was hoping it was Toney, as he'd give a great test of boxing.

It's going to be Rahman, isn't it?

I'd have thought so. Depends whether his cut will heal in time, though. That's what made me suspicious when I was told Rahman was one of the options.

I haven't seen the Toney fight, though. It's not come through yet.

Sorry Asterix, ESB is wrong: "‘We are talking to five or six fighters that fit the top ten criteria so we should be able to announce something mid-September.' "

I was lucky enough to speak to the team after the press conference, and I can only say that there was some frustration at not being able to name the opponent now, and my personal view is that there won't be confirmation at the O2 tomorrow.
Hey (excuse the pun) - but you never know.
As far as Rhodes is concerned, you will hear what was said in the pod cast.
It's up to the WBC now.
Vuma hasn't defended the title since the Thompson fight, and elected to defend his South African title instead.
Maybe he will get stripped - who knows - but if he does I'm confident Rhodes will fight for the vacant title, hopefully on 15-11-08.
First things first though - Jamie Coyle.

It sure as hell aint going be Toney, which sort or removes Rahman from the picture too because you can't fight the leftovers of a man who's called you out and who you have no intention of resonding to.
