Agreed bennie but how many guys do you know in their ninth fight who are 23 who have fought "names".
To call him the alex arthur of the division is not fair on Haye, he is learning has plenty of time and has no need as yet to rush in with the more established names.
He needs solid journeyman who will take him a few rounds so he gets them under his belt, then take on someone like rothmann, scott at around 14-15 fight mark.
Thats just my take.
He does need to get busy tho. Seems an age since he fought his last decent fight.

I actually agree with Bennie, J, though I also take your points. We are all going on potential here rather than substance.

After seeing Bonson-Keeton on Friday, either of these opponents would be good for Haye. He has the potential to beat Rothmann but I wouldn't even put him in here yet.

Get some decent operators who know the tricks and Haye will learn from. Simple as that. Then when he has half a dozen more fights and actually progressed, then we can talk about him and Thompson.

But he should be having half a dozen fights in the next year, at least.

David Haye's a lovely guy and shrewd with it. He knows more than anyone he needs more fights and more rounds at this stage of his career. I think he needs to do an Audley and take off to the States for six months, get in a few fights there. He's clearly languishing here.

Yip sounds bout right, think its a mark of haye's potential tho, that after 9 fights people mention him in the same breath as likes of Enzo and Thompson/ Nelson (bit far fetched at this stage for me) .
Bennie coudl be right the only way forward may be to go stateside for a while and gain the expereince, and yip again Ian defo he needs to get a whole lot busier.

Yes, I think that would be a good move, provided he could afford the move, training expenses etc in America, relocation and all that won't be easy, he hasn't really made any money yet I wouldn't have thought.

It's a good idea in prinicipal however. If nothing else, Haye would get some top quality sparring.

I also seem to remember he was contracted to the beeb for 10 fights so 1 to go, so could get some tv backing and exposure out there and move all in.
just a thought dunno how likely that may be to happen.

Seem to remember Adam Booth telling me the plan was to bring some 'world-ranked' Americans over. A better idea would be to go there. Get his afro combed out and bash a few people up (though ones he will learn from). He's a good looking lad and can see him making an impact there.

Then he can come back and go the traditional route quicker and with more in his arsenal.

last i knew he was trying to strike a deal with Dennis Hobson.

He should be on the May 12th Fight academy card along with Eshem Pickering in Reading.

I thought he had signed with fight academy, which is Robert Waterman and Dennis Hobson isn't it? He was certainly wearing his fetching fight acamdemy cap after his last fight. I had one myself, but it made me look like a right zuphead.
