Ike Ibeabuchi V Max Schmeling & Buddy Baer
Who would win?
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi V Max Schmeling & Buddy Baer
I'd bet on Ike to lose to Max and beat Buddy.

Ike massacres both of them. Ibeabuchi is a pretty good example of a somewhat unaccomplished modern fighter being able to beat a lot of the ATG super-sccomplished fighters of the past who simply weren't as physically strong.
Ibeabuchi would've taken their punches, laughed at them, then proceeded to destroy both.

I think he KOs Buddy.
Struggles with Max early on but catches him the middle
way through the fight. I do see a clever Schmelling outpointing
Ike however if he can stay away from trouble...but most often
I think the power of Ike gets him the win.

I don't see anything the plodding Ibeabuchi did that Schmeling couldn't figure out and pinpoint his way through to a decision win.
Baer-Ibeabuchi, I favor Ike by decision.

We really don't have much idea how good Ibeabuchi was. He really only had two fights against decent opponents. He looked good against Byrd and the Tua fight had a lot of great action. However, that simply isn't enough to be sure how good of a fighter he would have been.

Ike is more legend than fact. Two or three good wins do not place him at the level of Max and Buddy with their complete careers.

This thread is flawed because Ike's rabid fanbase have never actually seen any other fighters fight, other than Tyson and Tua and 'that fag Lennox'.

That's not the point, of course Ike doesn't have as illustrious careers as Buddy and Max, but he would've destroyed them simply because on a head-2-head basis, he was a stronger fighter.enrique wrote:Ike is more legend than fact. True, but that's the trouble of trying to analyze matchups between fighters with numerous decades separating them, in essence, some bias will come into play, just like it does when people try to predict who will win between two current fighters who haven't yet fought each other, but with even more confusion.dempseyfire wrote:In your skewered opinion.Diamond WEAPON wrote:That's not the point, of course Ike doesn't have as illustrious careers as Buddy and Max, but he would've destroyed them simply because on a head-2-head basis, he was a stronger fighter.enrique wrote:Ike is more legend than fact. Bloody hell, Max Schmelling can knock out Joe Louis & take him apart, but he can't handle a man who scraped a razor-thin decision over David Tua?
The Ibeabuchi nuts are back in force. Padded cells must of been left unlocked.
