Magee is a nice boxer with a good amateur pedigree.

To be fair his opponent looked very strong and was a bit awkward, but my money would be on Reid to stop Magee.

I'd favour a big, experienced 12 stoner like Robin Reid to stop Magee after that miserable performance on saturday. There's obviously a reason why Magee has been in with all these middleweights (Mkambi, Cherifi, Elliot, and Nembard who nearly KHTFO).

He's just not strong enough.

Here's a form line for you.
Last year Ryan Rhodes went to spar in Germany - with Elloitt amongst others.
Ryan stood him on his head.
Reid will coast this fight if it ever happens.

No, Magee didn't look great. In his defence, I believe he's a fighter who needs to keep busy. He looked good against Thysse, Gonzalez and Cherifi in the latter half of 2003 - then came a five-month layoff which clearly showed against Elliott.
I wouldn't write him off totally against Reid. Reid has hardly looked great of late, either.

Thats the positive spin... the other side of the coin is that Cherifi is a shot to bits middle.... Gonzalez laid down and Thysse was just plain limited....

I tend to agree with all those assessments Knockout, don't forget also that Elliott was stopped in Nine by Middleweight Evans Ashira who is hardly a devastating KO artist.

Sometimes one certain fight in a boxers career can put you off of him, and for me, Brian Magee was fortunate to get the win over Chris Nembard. I didn't like what I saw that night, heavily decked with in seconds of the opening bell, rocked badly on occasions as the rounds went by, and clutching at almost every opportunity. Sound familiar?

While he's adjusted into a decent 10 round boxer by boxing carefully selected opposition, he lacking in something to take him beyond genuine European level (which is no disgrace at all, but the punters are being told he's a "world champion" when reality begs the question.....could he win a British title?)

But before I completely forgot about the title of this thread, Robin Reid will get to him before the final bell tolls and deliver an emphatic stoppage.

Mads Larsen has relinquished the EBU title. Prior to that Mario Viet withdrew as the official challenger. #1 rated Mikkel Kessler will not fight for the EBU title since he is getting a WBC shot soon. That means that the two highest available contenders Robin Reid and Vitali Tsypko probably will fight each other for the vacant belt.
