After watching munroe struggle last night, dunne must be kicking himself for making a balls of his fight with martinez. If dunne and munroe ever meet i see a one sided fight and dunne getting his belt back.

Yep, completely in agreement!

As I have always said, Dunnes major fault is his chin..Munroe doesnt hit that hard and smothers his own work...in a test of skill Dunne rips him apart...

But sadly I doubt it will happen, neither will give up promotional rights...Dunne will go straight to world class and Munroe will lose his title relatively soon

Im sure Dunnes rage has nothing to do with the Sais talking about his career.

I agree that its a strange assumption to make that he will be able to go to World Class, after Kiko sparked him in one, and then was himself withstood and dismantled by Monroe. Surely Dunne -- Monroe, if not Dunne in an eliminator, is more likely than a move UP the rankings.....

In the rankings before Monroe fought Kiko, Dunne was rated 2nd behind Malodrottu. There is/was also an EU champion Jeremi Parodi, who I suppose is nominally in front of him.

Since the Kiko defeat he has fought two opponents records of 15-4-1 and 25-7-1... his rating with the big four is non-existent

why is it the Irish are always crying when the irish boxers get called british or ranked in british ratings but they will put posts up in the British Forum

Dunne may be fighting an english guy (munroe) in the future so we like to get your views on the fighters etc and the easiest way to do that is to post here , so it makes sense in my eyes.

Ya Dunne is 2nd behind Maludrottu and that won't change no matter who Dunne beats and if Maludrottu doesn't fight again until Maludrottu is mandatory. Martinez is the next mandatory and Maludrottu will be the one after that, however parodi isn't going to jump over Dunne in the rankings even with his EU title. Infact the EU champion is often down far enough in the rankings.

Dunne is ranked 26th by the WBC and 13th by the WBO, so his rating isn't quite non existent.

Before last night Munroe was ranked 17th by the WBC, 8 by the WBA, 8th by the IBF and unranked by the WBO
Matirosian was ranked 11th by the WBA, so Munroe will move up in their rankings and probably make the WBC top 15, and possibly the WBO's too.

Kiko Martinez is ranked 11th by the IBF

Michael Hunter is ranked 14th by the WBO

Matthew Marsh is ranked 33rd by the WBC

Damir Bulatov is ranked 40th by the WBC

Simeone Maludrottu is ranked 13th by the WBC, he's also ranked 12th by the IBF at Bantamweight


That's how European fighters are ranked at the moment. I don't think it would be hard for Dunne to get into either the IBF or WBA's top 15.
He was top 10 in them last year so an inter-continental belt win would probably do it. Afterall Matirosian managed to get ranked #11 with them.

With the WBC it wouldn't be too hard to move up the rankings either, Malcolm Tunacao the former WBC Flyweight champion is ranked 21st by them at Super-Bantamweight even though he's only a Bantamweight nowdays and someone like that would be any easy win for Dunne.

Dunne did actually have a chance to fight Celestino Caballero in Panama next month, but this was before Dunne had even fought Damian Marchiano and it was too early in a comeback for that fight. You may notice Dunne isn't ranked by the WBA so that fight couldn't happen.
Well 43 year old Elvis Mejia who hasn't beat a winning opponent in over 2 years wasn't either............until he was named as Caballero's opponent. It's great how these sanctioning bodies work.

Anyway the point is Dunne could pursue a World title if he wanted should a European title fight not come about. Okay he'd probably lose it, but don't doubt that he could actually get it.
