Enough of the PPV silliness....

Post by Boxingmad »

....why can't we just have our normal Friday Night Fights on Sky?

Had last night's show been on FNF, folk would have been quite pleased. Instead, It showed up as a PPV event and understandably fans weren't too happy about shelling out £15.

To be honest, I don't know what FW is going to do now. The Khan loss is going to cost him dearly.

Hopefully now he can put his shows on FNF and we can all be happy with just paying our Sky subscription.

Anyone for Murray V Khan?

I heard Warren had to put it on PPV cus Kahn was demanding so much money. Surely his next fight wont be PPV.

If that's true though - tell Khan to fornicate off.

Where else is he going to get the money?

It will be very intresting to see where he goes from here and also what his mental state will be like in his next fight.

Well I think it will be Khan vs Prescott 2 live on Sky Box office possibly before the year is out.

Just from the text messages I have received I think the buy rate hasn't been at all shabby.

Hamed lost his next fight was on PPV.

Same with Hatton.

Same with Lewis.

Same with Tyson.

It will be the same with Khan.

Yes but Tyson was myth had been exposed before and was systematically destroyed (not saying Khan wasn't) by Lewis..... but yet his fight against proven chinny fighter like Etteine was PPV.

Even after a loss to a fighter of Danny Williams' level, giving him a record of 1-2 in his last three, his next fight was on PPV, (albeit on Setanta).

Crikey even a spar session vs a one eyed fighter was PPV in the states.

Aslong as the figures are good for this one, irrespective of what happend, Khan's next fight will be on PPV.... and I reckon the figures will be equally as good.

well, i really doubt that is true... FW has a mini-history to make money, Khan seems to be more anxious to get the world title more than anything else

Good points.

I'd definitely like to see Murray -v- Khan.

Murray had quite a bit to say & it would be a spicy encounter.

You would have to be f*cking stupid to shell out £15 to see Khan knock over bums. Cant see FW putting Khan in with anyone decent who can punch for a couple of fights at least. Murray in a year maybe when he has got his confidence back and worked on his defense. As for a world title shot maybe two years now. Khan cant demand the big money now so hopefully he will fight on FFN. Its reality time now for Khan after going from hero to zero whether he likes it or not. PPV should be reserved for "must see" title fights, not for beaten prospects fighting no hopers. It was a very bad loss indeed. Prescott could never have outboxed Khan, the only thing he had was a good punch and he landed it. It wasnt a lucky punch either, Khan was wide open in his defense. Khan could come back from it providing he is willing to take a lot less money and work his way back up. Personally I dont see him beating the elite and winning a title because at that level you must be able to take a shot and he clearly cant. Euro level will be his limit and that will be tough enough. Getting back to PPV, that should be his first and last.
