BELSHAW WANTS FRAUDLEY

BELFAST heavyweight sensation Scott Belshaw has thrown down a challenge to 2000 Olympic gold medallist, Audley Harrison.

He told manager Frank Maloney "get me Fraudley" after watching the Londoner's lumbering points win over Brazilian loser George Arias last weekend.

Belshaw (9-1) who stands 6ft 7in tall recently moved to London and tops the bill at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Saturday night when he faces Pavol Polakovic in his first eight round contest.

Maloney said: "If allegedly is looking for Audley's next opponent, Scott is ready, willing and more than able to knock out Harrison.

"People might think I'm mad because Belshaw is so inexperienced, but I would back him to beat Audley who looks scared stiff whenever he fights."

Maloney non-televised show at the spiritual home of British boxing is billed 'Search For A Star', and former ABA super-heavyweight champion Tom 'The Ginger Bomb' Dallas could make a big splash.

Medway banger Tom makes his debut against Vlado Szabo and Maloney is excited about his prospect who has been flattening sparring partners.

Maloney added: "The heavyweight division is looking for new talent, and in Belshaw and Dallas we have two talented men.

"If Dallas shows the promise he has shown at Mark Roe's gym we could have someone as exciting as sixties idol Billy Walker."

Super-Featherweight weight debutant Liam 'The Punching Barber' Shinkwin is a cut above the rest when he swaps scissors for gloves.

Many of his customers will be among his 400 fans who will be roaring Shinkwin when he faces Crawley's Robin Deakin over four rounds on the exciting bill.

Belshaw is so raw, he's still running around the field, mooing at passing cars.

I saw his rematch with Mr. Blobby and he throws wide arm punches and went backwards too easy. He's very, very green and not in a street-brawler wild sort of way, but in a tall-kid at the Amateur gym for the first time sort of way.

He could develop, I hope he does. But this PR is merely opportunistic rather than serious.

May be worth Belshaw and Rogan squaring off, Im sure both those guys want their crack at Audley.

Also here's a ridiculous idea, how about Belshaw or Rogan vs George Arias. If both guys think they can look good or stop Arias then lets see them try. Im sure Arias would be glad of the work.

Martin Rogan would eat Belshaw alive. Unless Belshaw has depths I've simply not seen. I hate to be so damning about a fighter - they're all more courageous than me. But Belshaw has precious little to keep Rogan off him and doesn't seem to crack with the authority promoted by FM.

Met Rogie at the MEN Arena on Saturday night - nice fellar but smaller than I thought he would be.

He would smash Belshaw on current form although I am hoping Scott can develop into a decent fighter - he certainly has the size and plenty of time on his side..

Maloney, is on a crack pipe, he has to be, please God someone tell him to pipe down ffs. Belshaw is doing an 8rndr tomorrow ffs his first ever, and he wants to throw him in the A-Farce pot.

When Rogan pulled out injured someone asked me what I thought about Belshaw and Harrison, I'll say the same now, both will stand at opposite sides of the ring and shout about what they are going to do to each other but there'll not be a decent punch thrown.

Belshaw is not ready for Harrison, no way, unless Brian Lawrence has performed magic since the 2nd Perret fight.

It would be great if Brian Lawrence had made a massive difference in Belshaw in the last few months but I seriously doubt it. Belshaw just is not as big or confident as Maloney makes out, he is a child still and needs to be treaded as such in the HW ranks. .

Lets see what Belshaw is out tomorrow night, hopefully a crackin one that has gotten his spark back and learnt how to throw some punches rather than big lumbering lurching punches.

I really feel sorry for Rogie, he must feel so gutted he missed the Audley dust up, and with Fraudley now eyeing up a clash with James Toney, it will be interesting whom he will fight next.

12 months ago Frank was calling out Kevin McBride to fight Belshaw, now it's Audley. I think Scott should stick to his original target and go after McBride (if he hasn't retired).

Funny you should say that as from what Iv just seen on Setanta, where Audley spoke on the phone with Steve Bunce that Rogan fight may be the one. Audley said he wants to fight again this year and he wants an opponent who is big (in terms of weight now) and will come at him and mentioned Rogan's name specifically.

We'll see what happens. Im guessing it may be Audley v Rogan on the next Khan bill in December.

James it could be a goer, Scots not ready yet I feel, I like what Brians doing with Him but feel He is maybe a year away from a Biggy. Over the years Ive become disenchanted with Audley and really couldnt give two Hoots what He does He certainly isnt the Future.
