LYNES/BARNES - NOV 21st

This is a real cracker, I realise styles might not gell and its not the one punch fiasco that we saw last week but this is a real quality British match up for me.

Barnes seemed to be approaching some of his old form against Morrison, I think the confidence is coming back, it seemed to be missing a bit against Bami.

Lynes on the other hand will feel justifiably aggrieved he is not the holder of the European crown still following the close loss to Branco.

How do we see this one going chaps?

My initial thoughts were to favour Lynes reasonably strongly but whilst still thinking he wins the fight, the Barnes who destroyed Hare a few years ago would make it very interesting.

Could Barnes style be awkward for Colin, I think it could, I am not sure Lynes will be able to establish the jab which is the tool, which all his work is founded on.

If Barnes can make him miss with a lot of his early work, this could be very close indeed.

Really looking forward to it, just hope both boys stay injury and illness free, not always been the case for both of these two.

Good match-up, as you say it depends on which Barnes shows up, but Barnes would have to be on tip-top form to beat Lynes IMO. Lynes UD

Surprised matchroom won the purse bids for this. Thought Hayemaker would have won it with the money they're reported to be throwing around. Don't they look after Barnes now? Good fight but I fancy Lynes to outwork Barnes. He'll make Barnes fight at a pace he's not comfortable with.

nice to see the best brits fighting each other for a change,imo lynes will have all the tools to nullify barnes s work . barnes has taken a long while to try and impress, this is his chance so should be good, i cannot believe he will beat lynes,who will be wanting another crack at the euro belt should he win this,with witter mandatory for branco who knows could see lynes/witter2

Lynes, Lynes Lynes no probs. Barnes is an improved fighter but not good enough to beat Lynes who is on top form. I loved James Hare really great lad and still only 32. Dont know why but after his first loss he was never the same again, maybe his confidence went. He only fought two good fighters IMO and one of them was Barnes, just not good enough for the top British level. Beating Hare for me doesnt mean Barnes is anything special. Lynes will win very comfortably, I see no other result.

I think Lynes by late stoppage or close decision. Barnes is quick and flashy enough that he may well dominate the first three to five rounds but Lynes is the stronger man, wastes very little, and will get to him both mntally and physically as the fight goes on. He doesn't have to deal with Italian judges this time, remember!

good post, ime not a fan of barnes since jimmy vincent beat him(imo) strangely at the same venue only for barnes to get hotly disputed verdict, i think colin lynes will win comfortably, a shame these fights take so long to put together.
