I wanted to see how many people agreed with the central premise of this article.

Well personaly I think it's a highly depressing moment in heavyweight boxing.
Vitali appears to be The Man, assuming he gets past the world's hardest hitting golfer this weekend, but then what?!
Brewster looked a bit of a one hit wonder to me, Wlad is heading for palookaville, Ike is behind bars, Mesi showed he can't even beat a cruiserweight properly, Tua is eating himself into oblivion, Golota will blow it as soon as he meets a real heavyweight, Byrd is..well, boring, Ruiz ditto,
and the supposed big prospect Guinn showed last time he aint so great after all.
Even the lost generation 80's heavies were better than this. At least guys like Witherspoon, Dokes and Thomas could fight a bit, up until they nose dived into a pile of cocaine and booze ( well maybe not Spoon - his weakness was food )
So, all in all, it's looking bleak

There should be a third option to this poll. If only because i stand somewhere between the two viewpoints.
Your article pretty much sums up how i feel. I like the fact that most of the top guys in the division are capable of beating each other. We've now got a competitive division, when for such a long time that's not been the case. As you've said it's made for some lively, and for the most part interesting debate.
The downside is that there are no great fighters in the flagship division, and unfortunately no real superstar to bring in the casual supporters.
I think it's the styles of some of the top fighters that have contributed to peoples disillusionment with the heavyweight scene. I don't think there are many guys who love watching fighters like Ruiz and Byrd, i know i don't.
Blow your own trumpet mate, it's a good article!!

Th heavyweight division interms of ability and talent certainly is a poor one...maybe the worst in world boxing. But i think it's still an exciting division. Alot of competitive matches, that are hard to predict. There is no dominant force at the moment, which is good to see, and alot of guys capable of beating one another.
