advice on opening a gym please?

hello bill might be able to help with a few of these

1)you dont need insurance or permission for yr fighters the general public you may do.
2)yes a lot of trainers get by ,by doing one to one and classes for none boxers.
3)best way to get a sponsor is to find a genuine boxing fan and get him in the gym and dressing room at shows let him get to know the lads and see what hes helping.
4)A young offenders group is a good way to get a little help with the gym but an amatuer gym in differnt hours can get benefits as well as paying a portion of the rent themselves.
5)Promoter is the same as yr trainers you sit down for an interveiw and pass if you impress em,manager you have to have held another license for a year before you can take an interveiw then same again let em know your talking sense.

amatuers become insured when u affiliate too the a.b.a, same with pros via the board.
Be aware though as john said that the two codes have different times of training, also if there is another amatuer club near by u will not get accepted i think its a two mile rule, not possitve though.
As for promoting go and set fire too your house, buy a gun, blow out your brains. it will save years of shit as the result will be the same.
