thoughts on fenechs towel throw

Post by colin91 »

does anyone feel jeff threw the towel on big bob at the wrong time? bob had been hit granted but was up and looking for the 8 count, the clapper has sounded and a concerned trainer throws the towel. all that said if the main concern was his boxer why does jeff run over to hoppa's corner to get his mug on tele rather than look after his man. i have enjoyed bobs fights and just feeling for some other thoughts!!

His hand was busted, I think it was a good stoppage. Bob was taking to much punishment.

no problem with that but how about checking the fighter not crowing for camera exposure. bob could have made the call during the break that was also only seconds away. my view anyway

I would have liked to have seen it a bit earlier, just didn't want to see Bob get hurt.

:lol:

Surely main event could have moved the camera away somewhere else. We got a full frontal shot.

jeff annoyed the hell out of me with that towel throw. 10 secs left and only one round to go...u could see bobs face and reaction, he was like "wtf"?...

jeff did the same to tyson against mcbride, pulled the plug too early...

i have a theory - jeff is so jealous of these older guys getting the limelight he rains on their parade.

Tyson sat down against McBride, Jeff didn't have to do anything...

Bob would have only taken more punishment if it went on. It was right to stop the fight. Hopefully Bob will finally pull the plug...

Big Bob was gone big time when the towel came in to put him out of his misery! He had:

- a busted right hand which he could only use as a block to wade off Hoppa's head punches;
- only a few left jabs in his depleted arsenal, which were having no impact and the occassional left hook;
- no more gas left in the tank and was exhausted against an aggressive opponent who was fighting through his pain barrier and was surging through Bob's few punches.

Fenech did the right thing to avoid Bob the ignomy of being countered out in his last battle. Yet it was reported in today's media, that Big Bob's handlers want a rematch. Bob, it's time to hang up the gloves and no more of this rematch crap as this is no sport for old men!

that's how I remeber Mcbride as well. Tyson slumped on the floor looking up at the ref.

I hope Bob calls it quits. I fear for him every fight after the brutal KO Cameron gave him.

Now apparently Bob is going to lodge a protest about Hoppa hitting him too hard or something like that...
