Joe Calzaghe – My Life Story. DVD released November 2008

“The greatest British boxer of our time”
Sugar Ray Leonard

Joe Calzaghe – A Life Story

The official life story of the greatest British boxer of our time and ‘Welsh Hero’, ‘Super’ Joe Calzaghe will be released in November 2008. Joe Calzaghe – A Life Story documents the fascinating career of the longest reigning world champion boxing title holder ever, with exclusive interviews with his family, never-seen before footage and commentary from A-list stars. From Sardinia to Wales to Las Vegas, the DVD takes us on a journey from humble beginnings to world wide success.

Voted Britain’s Sports Personality of the Year 2007 and recently awarded a CBE (to add to his MBE!) Joe Calzaghe is the longest reigning title holder in boxing history. Hailed as ‘The Pride of Wales’, Joe recently surpassed 11 years as the WBO super middleweight champion and is currently placed 3rd in the top ten best pound for pound boxers in the world.

The film documents Joe’s extraordinary life and stunning rise to personal greatness, as told by the man himself and, through exclusive footage, gives viewers a rare insight into the private life of the usually discreet boxer. The DVD charts the phenomenal journey of Joe’s life through interviews with his closest family members, friends and trainers as well as fellow boxers and celebrity fans clearly showing the viewers why this boxer has come to be so admired & respected both in and out of the ring. The film also uses state of the art camera technology to give the viewer Joe’s perspective during his harsh training regime along with an opponents eye view of what it’s like to go a full 3 minutes in the ring with Joe!

The DVD features exclusives from A-list fans such as Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Simon Cowell, Tom Jones, Catherine Zeta Jones, James Corden, Chris Eubank, Amir Khan, Lewis Hamilton…and many many more. The film is punctuated with moving anecdotes from some of Joe’s oldest Sardinian based Calzaghe family members and commentary from some of the industry’s most respected experts.

The DVD exclusively covers the build up to Joe’s first ever fight in the USA, where he took on the legendary Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas.

Joe Calzaghe – A Life Story is the ultimate account of Britain’s legendary undefeated boxing champion.

The film is made by Integral Productions, producers of the multi award winning ‘Ricky Hatton – A Life Story’ and distributed by Universal.

Sounds absolutely terrible. Who wants to hear what Simon Cowell and Catherine Zeta Jones have to say about Calzaghe? Or anybody else on that list for that matter. November too, just in time for Christmas. I imagine this is the sort of thing that Santa gives out to kids that have been bad during the year.

Yeah I was given both the Khan and Calzaghe books a couple of years ago - both in hardback.

It was horrible, lots of long footage following him round Bolton with his Boyz & his indecipherable mumbling, and it couldn't even act as a straight set of his 10 fights or whatever it was, as they do all these weird tacky effects on each of them, for instance if the preview makes a big deal of his "fast hands", then you have to endure the highlights (never full fights) of his hands 'blurred' as he boxes, etc etc

Twas a right heap of b#llocks, even if you're a Khan fan (although they're probbaly easy to satisfy)

To be honest I thought Hattons DVD was alright, nothing special but nowhere near the shambles of Khans attempt. At least Ricky had a story, I'd have liked to have seen a bit more from his early career.

my life by calzaghe???....whats that about???....beating c-class fighters for 10 years before finally fighting 2 decent fighters in lacy and kessler

oh and fighting 2 men in hopkins and jones who are way past thier best,,,men joe should have fought 8 years ago.

ive wasted hours of my life watching calzaghe...the only reason hes undefeated is because of the level of opposition he has faced.

hes still running from pavlik the way he did from hopkins and jones all those years ago

ps: hopkins beat him in that last fight...i had it 114-113...imagine hopkins even at 40 vs calzaghe??...he probably would have stopped him
