WELLINGTON DE JESUS

Post by Brute »

Where on earth did the promoters of last night's program get the idea that Wellington Boot, sorry, de Jesus was a "step up" for Chad Bennett? De Jesus has not wom a fight outside of Brazil. Did they confuse him with the late Esteban de Jesus, the Puerto Rican who beat Roberto Duran at lightweight? Nooo similarity! :DD

It was fairly close fight, I think the knockdown cost him the fight. I would like to see a rematch.

Bloody slack editor addressed Ben!
Sorry mate been flat out with work and thought Servek may have seen the show and put them in. Don't know about Shaw being ripped off, it was a close fight that may have gone either way, Team Shaw certainly see it that way. Ben just on the knockdown, no count was issued so technically the additional point for the knockdown cannot be added to the scorecard so techinically the touchdown should not have a bearing. Good fight though!

I wasnt sure of the Knockdown, went for a leak before it happened and when i got back after grabbing a beer i saw the replay between rounds. I thought the fight was really close and could have gone either way :TU:

Yeah I agree Ben
It was close and I would like to see them go again but that's a bit hard on Mick - he is a light welter at best and weighed in at 64 something after having had a pizza at the airport (didn't even share it the greedy wee pig!). The knockdown happened right on the bell and the ref had a split second to make the call, they way he saw it, it landed just after the bell and issued no count. It is academic anyway as Paulley still carried the fight on two cards (interestingly the judge that scored for Mick by one point did score the round 10-8 to Paulley!)

Paulley looked like middleweight in that fight and i know his no bum, just belived the fight was closer to a shaw win if anything a draw.

I have no problem people seeing it that way Convict, as I said it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Paulley looked bigger build-wise due to the weight difference between the two. Good fight as it turned out but neither are in a dull one!

Wellington's ticker just wasn't in it and he took the easy way out to avoid having the de be jesus knocked out of him.
