HOW PATHETIC WAS THAT?
HOW PATHETIC WAS THAT?
Sprott is gunshy, Williams mentally ruined him in their second fight.
Skelton is what John Ruiz mutated into after being exposed to too much gamma radiation.
Davis is an incompetant referee, that was an exceptionally dirty fight, mostly because of Skelton, there was one round where Skelton hit Sprott with about twenty punches behind the head and Davis did nothing.
The stoppage was dodgy too, Sprott was up at eight not to mention it was a rabbit punch that dropped him.
What the fornicate the crowd were cheering about is beyond me
After that the Klitschko-Sanders fight had better be pretty fornicating special

it certainly was a mess but quite an entertaining mess
skelton does it his way but it is pretty effective
sprott didn't want too much more of it in that 12th rd thats for sure.
i agree skelton was dirty particularly with the head, and davies could have been in there quicker, but when your as fat as davies its not so easy to get around the ring quickly.
skelton v williams should be interesting.

what a joke., Sprott had little or no confidence, and applied totally the wrong tactics. I dunno how he was trying to win. He wasn't throwing enough to get the better of it in a war.
He certainly wasn't jabbing and moving to outbox skelton like he should of been doing.
maybe he waited for skjelton to tire. Although he took 2 or 3 rounds in a row once that did happen, he still was reluctant to throw. He was waiting too much, and thinking too much.
Skelton was VERY dirty, should of had points taken off. Use of the head, a couple of times threw sprott to the canvas and repeatedly punched the back of Sprott's head.
Sprott had the ability to win this fight, but blew it.
Danny Williams against Skelton would be logical. But i think Williams would apply his technical advantages, unlike Sprott, and stop Skelton.
no point even thinking about Skelton-Harrison.

I think Skelton-Williams will be just as bad but i fear that is the next logical matchup to be made, let's be honest as if Harrison-Skelton is going to happen ever let alone next, no chance. Skelton is British level while Harrison is off "Conquering the world" don't forget
Plus there is the promotional problems with that one as well. As a spectacle Skelton-Sprott was reasonably exciting but technically appalling, the great champions of the past must have been turning in there graves to think that type of rubbish was being passed as a British title fight
However Skelton was incredibly fit for an 18 stone 37 year old and his stamina was commendable, Sprott reverted back to the timid shell like journeyman he always was before he was handed an undeserved decision against Williams, fair enough he is technically better than Skelton but lacked the strength to keep him at bay. All in all some enjoyable wrestling between two limited bear like fighters.
Forget hoping let's PRAY Klitschko-Sanders is better than this![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

sprott could'nt use his skills because of the size and awkwardness of Skelton.
Skelton's messy hook happy style confused sprott and Skelton tired Sprott out with his size more than anything.
I predicted a late stoppage for Skelton due to Sprotts stamina and that was the case. I'm pretty sure that the ref saw something in Sprotts eye's that we could not. That's why he stopped the fight.
It was pretty obvious IMO that Sprott was done after the knock down and that Skelton would have finished him off.
Itwas a very messy and dirty fight though but i would like to see Skelton in with Harrison.
Harrison needs to fight a big, messy and strong hook happy fighter like Skelton.
One thing that i noticed about SKelton thoguh was his lack of power at top domestic level.
IMO he's got even less power than Sprott..
he' seems to posses a chin strong enough to take what Audly Harrison's got to dish out, though.

McCoy was browsing the SKY sports website just a minute ago & seen that SKY were calling the Sprott-Skelton fight a 'Slugfest', a hugfest more like!
Did any of you cats actually start finding this fight amusing after a while?
McCoy was something like this
& this
after being like this
So it wasnt all bad, we just have to laugh, & then it will be all gravy baby!
Laughter is actually a great thing, thats why we should all laugh at a time like this, hey it could have been worse, we could have paid for a ticket!
But funny enough, everyone who paid for a ticket seemed to love it!
A thought that actually has McCoy laughing again
I mean, did McCoy actually tell you that laughter is a great thing...

well sprott speaks better....so there for the title of the worst british champion goes to Derek.bennie wrote:In a word. No.adamiw wrote:how bad was derek williams? could he box better than he can put sentences together?bennie wrote: I should have said WAS Michael Sprott.
i dunno why sky persist with him as their heavyweight pundit.
Yes, much better. Neville Meade was a dangerman. He banged out several favoured opponents en route to his shot at the title, which he then won with a crushing face-first kayo of Gordon Ferris in one round.Gingoi wrote:Even worse than Neville Meade???bennie wrote:Sprott did exactly as he did in the Williams fight: just stood off and didn't throw punches. Move over Michael Holden: the worst British heavyweight champion ever is now Michael Sprott.
Meade was also a former top amateur who struck gold in the 1974 Commonwealth Games.
Take it from me, Sprott is the worst. He's too reluctant.
Just checked his record out and your right. Beat Lucien Rodriguez early on and some of his losses we against decent guys.bennie wrote:Yes, much better. Neville Meade was a dangerman. In my defence I can only really remeber his later fights, remember he had a lot of defeats and wasn't good when losing to David Pearce.
So Sprott it is then. :)

I found it quite an entertaining contest.
Skelton was dirty, and should have had at least 1 point deducted, but the ref seemed happy to continually give him one more last warning.
I thought the count did look a bit ropey too, but Skelton was way clear at that point anyway, not that the finish was that great, in fact it was one of the most messy finishes I have ever seen.
As for Sprott, well I am very disappointed. He had the skills to outbox Skelton, but decided not too. Instead getting involved in some kind of bravado show of strength - My, how Danny Williams must be kicking himself.
Skelton did take a couple of decent whacks on the chin, and that is the only positive I can take out of this fight for him :)

You're thinking of Meade's awful fight with Leroy Boone, a durable American who stood up to Meade's early onslaughts and came on to outpoint him in Neville's first fight as champ. But at least Neville tried to win and, as you know, was an old man when he won the title. He had every excuse to fade. Sprott, on the other hand, is 28.Gingoi wrote:Just checked his record out and your right. Beat Lucien Rodriguez early on and some of his losses we against decent guys.bennie wrote:Yes, much better. yeah i like him, speaks alot of sense. Although sometimes he tries to use too many long words, reminds me of Paul Elliot on football italia.steve689 wrote:Talking of pundits i like Johnny Nelson, he is bright and alert and doesn't slur all the time or use constant "Know what i means" or "At the end of the days"
