Contact details for Shea Neary?

Post by dondada »

I've just had some old Army pal of his on to me wanting to get back in touch.

Anyone have any contact details for him?

I don't 'do' Facebook, etc, so I wouldn't know if he's there, etc.

Any help appreciated.

Can someone not do a really indepth interview with Shea?

He was my favourite boxer for ages, ever since I saw him on ITV's short lived champions of the future (featuring the debut of one Matthew Ellis) and he got badly cut in the 2nd round, the ref told him he'll stop it at the end of the round, Shea replied you won't need to and went and landed a massive right (or left it was 1996!) hook and sparked the guy clean out.

Genius.

The Shamrock Express was a bad ass wasn't he?

One of the fittest pros around as well through out his career.
Always gave great value for money.

I agree Dirk - an indepth interview is well overdue..

My favourite all time fighter, i mentioned to Ian I would like to see an article on Shea Neary done by someone, especially about his life now as a trainer. I was considering emailing Claude Abrams with the request.

Always in entertaining fights, supremely fit with a crowd pleasing style. I always felt he could have went alot further than he did. ITV did a program called "The Shea Neary Story", I have it on tape, really good documentary if you can get hold of it.

Neary-Holligan - one of the most memorable and amazing liverpool fights, wish I had have been there but sadly I was a skint teenager.
