Dawson vs Ntshingila

Post by Sweet P »

Dawson won last night by UD, The fight was good it was competitive despite the scores being 118-110 117-111 116-112. Dawson started well and took all the early rounds, He then let his opponent back into the fight in the middle rounds as the pace slowed a little. He took control again in the late rounds.
NtShingila had one hell of a chin he was hit with some massive shots but never went down.

good to hear-sadly i missed the fight.really like dawson. Know kickboxers coming over to boxing often have a hard time adjusting but hope hes got the goods to adjust sufficiently to take on some bigger opponents.
one ? i have from his k/boxing days-see he has had a few losses(what k/boxer hasnt) but wondering whether he was ever kod?????
anyway all the best to him. reckoon caant question his dedication and training etc.hope he does well.

He is fighting again on the 11th Oct, The fight last night should put him into the top 5 with the WBA or IBF.

well seems he has not been knocked out in kickboxing so seems like his chin is good.

JSA I don't think he'd ever been KO'd in kickboxing. But that's if my memory serves me correctly.

As for the losses, something I think kickboxing/mma have over boxing is that the losses don't mean as much on the record as they do in boxing.

^^ youu are right maate. both sports dont seem to give a toss about the precious undefeated thing like happens in boxing.seems a healthy attitude to have.
had a look at his K/B record aand fought Zambidis so reckon that says a fair bit about his chin. interested to note a "controversial"loss in that fight, just like JW PArr.
not seen enough of Dawson to comment on what he needs improving in boxing- certainly sounds like Geale gave him a bit of a lesson.

Dawson was robbed Vs Zambitis, I watched that fight and it was a robberie. He had a war with JWP also. Dawson is a good boxer and has all the skills to win a title at 154. He was an absolute machine at Mauythai as i watched him fight many times.

That's true crusher and fast moving boxers will always trouble him. If he is matched in the right way he can win a title- he needs shrewd management. He is tough, fit and can whack with both hands

the zabidis fight was a JOKE i was there watching it live and had thought he won 4 of the 5 rounds with zambidis taking rd 3 i think it was with pressure as he was really going for the KO on dawson

dawson has an exellent chin he gets hit by bigger guys hard sometimes and has never gone down

he has not been knocked out in kickboxing/muay thai im pretty sure

although geale gave him trouble he can handle good movers doring his preperation for the geale fight he didnt look right nothing was flowing for him when i saw him at the gym (he was training at harry's gym for that fight). he seems to fight much better under ron parr. it would be great to see him win a title

I totally agree P4P, under Craig he didnt look right. He looked flat footed and didnt look sharp.

The other night he beat NtShingila in the early rounds by just really beating up on him, Then in the later rounds he was up on his toes and moving around. He really looked comfortable while moving around the ring in the later rounds and didnt seem tired at all at the end which was suprising considering the pace of the fight.
