whats the latest on hattons opponent??
whats the latest on hattons opponent??
Any specuulation as to when he may be named or indeed who it will be?
Wasn't Hatton's Opponent supposed to be announced 2 weeks ago?
With the money Warren offers, he gonna be lucky to get someone in the top 20.
Like the guy before me said, it'll be another former S featherweight/Lightweight who's a powder puff hitter or Over the Hill
Same old SAME OLD!
and the Gullible manchester fans will buy the tickets once more.
Shit, even Baby Joe's opponents are competitive!

As well as Bruseles and Camacho Junior, Witter is also a possibility (and these are just possibilities). I also wonder whether Warren is going to throw a curve and bring Salvatore Battaglia (who pulled out of the vacant European title fight with Witter) over for Hatton.
Stranger things have happened.

Maybe but seven of us going to Manc and a mate flying over from singapore to see it who I havent seen for an age = wicked time no matter what. its the event of it all.007 wrote:People who have bought tickets without knowing Hattons opponent are mad, especially after the shambles last time (Pinto). Imagine if calzaghe gets injured which isnt the remotest possibility and you end up with Hatton fighting a stiff. The paying public need to wise up!
Its nice to see decent boxing but to be fair if it was just the boxing and not the atmosphere and a weekend away with good friends then I would stick to smallhall fights. You can see all the action clearly are closer and from a boxing perspective its purer.
This is about a bit of a beano in my book the boxing is a bonus. see where Im coming from?

As we all know, without American TV network Showtime putting money into the June 5 Manchester promotion, there's no way it will be a big opponent for Ricky.
Also, as others have pointed out, the big Johnson-Calzaghe fight on the bill (if it comes off) will give Warren even more licence to pick a disappointing - or obscure - opponent for Hatton.

Fair enough, but a lot of people will be buying tickets thinking they are getting value for money and will prob end up stiffed off. Sports Network would not give refunds when Pinto didnt turn up and the mismatch with Pedersen was made which is out of order.J wrote:Maybe but seven of us going to Manc and a mate flying over from singapore to see it who I havent seen for an age = wicked time no matter what. its the event of it all.007 wrote:People who have bought tickets without knowing Hattons opponent are mad, especially after the shambles last time (Pinto). yeah I was dissapointed but it was my first large hall experience and the atmosphere was worth the entrance moneyalone. Never experienced anything like it not football not rugby not cricket. Hooked
but like I say its a lot of money, I persoinally am really looking forward to see JC in action. While I do care who hatton faces that fight alone is worth a decent ticket as long as doesnt go tits up.

I bought my tickets immedietley on the strength of the calzaghe bout, whoever hatons opponent ends up being i'll be happy to pay to see Calzaghe Johnston then undercard fights including Hatton, Gomez, Foster jr, Jenings & Farnell.

Any idea of an opponent? Will this be at the MEN?REAL_DEAL wrote:i heard Enzo Maccarinelli is fighting on june 5th
And why aren't opponents given more than a fortnight to train for guys like Maccarinelli and Hatton who have a-typical styles, or at least something it would be wise to think about in your training?
