Kessler brought about 4,000 i read.

Bika brought zero... Manfredo zero... Evans Ashira... zero...

Calzaghe's fans are worse than the man himself - trying to reason why a fight SHOULD NOT occur !
for Kessler to bring 4000 fans if thats true, and you haven't plucked that number out of the air is very good indeed, would Froch take 4000 fans over to Denmark absolutely not, no way whatsoever, and will Froch ever be the main event at a bout with 50,000 fans mmmmmmmmm NO !!!

Froch has his hands full with Pascal - needs to focus on the task at hand IMO. Pascal is a talented fighter - based on form Froch should win but its not an easy fight by any means. Calzaghe is just looking to add to his retirement fund - as james said the biggest paydays for the lowest reward. Admittedly I would have liked to see Froch-Calzaghe rather than fights with Bika/Manfredo/Ashira etc but lets be honest Froch has beaten no-one of note on the world stage.(Reid was shot IMO)

Some good points Panther. But a slight contradiction don't you think?

I mean does anyone know who Ashira, Bika or Manfredo beat at World Level to deserve a fight?

For starters they had 0, 1 and 4 fights respectively at Supermiddle before climbing in that ring.. all little people.

Bika had a fight with Markus Bayer and drew early, due to a dodgy cut i think but apparently looked pretty good.

Hopefully all goes well and Pascal turns up and Froch wins the WBC belt.

I felt Froch made Joe look a bit silly on the ITV programme. Sure, Joe won't take it because it doesn't "bring the money the money the money." Makes me wonder, why didn't Joe fight ppl that would bring "the money the money the money", before 2006.

Joe seems to have waited everyone out. Waited til the younger champs were willing to travel. Waited til the big, big names were ancient. If Joe is a modern great, it's because of stamina and longevity.

Re Calzaghe-Lacy. A perfect performance does not make the perfect fighter. Look at the dreadful performance Joe gave in his subsequent fight. Joe was flapping and flailing, he was feeling Bika's strength, getting marked up (punches and fouls), and was falling over in clinches.

What are you on about ??? alot of fighters avoided Joe up untill 2006 because he was in a similar position to Froch wasn't big in America, and everyone feels Bika's strength he's a very strong underrated fighter
Joe avoided ppl. Ppl avoided Joe. Joe wasn't a big name til '06. Before that he couldn't even get Scott Pemberton to fight him. Was Joe striking fear into fighters, did ppl just not want to come to the UK, or was there not enough clout/profile to even attract what should be routine opponents?

You mean were Bika nutted him in the fourth round and he had to go into theatre the gash was that deep ? and it was a technical draw ?

Thats not 'looking good' Mark by anyone's standards. He then went on to headbutt Joe that many times he got ducked points and was repeatedly warned.

Bika is a hard but limited bum for hire, who fought Dechapon Suwannalert (1-6-0) in his very next fight before he swerved himself into a Bute fight somehow and won barely a round across 3 judges scorecards.

What about Ashira & the behemoth that is Manfred?

Manfredo might not have bought fans with him but he bought Joe a big payday due to the contender series, how can you say Bika is a bum he may be a dirty limited fighter but he aint a bum by any means, he's never once been stopped has he ??? hardly a bum !

I think he is saying this is what Froch would bring to a big fight ??? he says Calzaghe got his following by fighting on bills with Naz but didn't Froch share his last billing with Witter, so surely a lot of the fans in the crowd were also Witters ????

G0mez wrote:I do wonder if Bika, Ashira, Manfredo, Lacy, Hopkins or Kessler can bring about 12,000+ fans to support them ? the answer is certainly NO.

Froch is fighting for the WBC title on ITV prime time.... Joe earned his WBOgus strap on a Naz undercard.

And funny how Hennessy made a counter off to Calzaghe for millions to fight Froch at the Nottingham Forest ground(backed by Sky TV) which was turned down flat... nobody mentions that do they?
Theres no way Hennessy could afford to pay a fighter millions. Sky TV waste their millions on Hatton and Khan PPVs. Joe Is the draw too so no way would Hennessy sucessfully get him on his show.

Froch waited till good fighters vacated the strap to fight for his belt, Eubank Is better than Pascal who might even beat Froch having better hand speed If that chin holds. Hopkins, Lacy and Kessler are better than anyone Froch's fought, all Froch has done Is stayed on domestic level talking garbage and turning down an offer to fight Joe when he had the chance.

Froch wouldn't do 12,000 outside of Nottingham, he's nowhere near big enough a draw, Kessler brought alot of Danes with him on Joe's soil.

Hope he beats Pascal for the WBC title though since I support British fighters over International ones generally.

Never mind 'being wobbled', didn't Salem put Calzaghe flat on his arse!

Froch has never been put down as an Am or Pro, so even with your revisionist history of the Froch-Reid fight I don't see how it's applicable to JC-Froch! Especially considering Calzaghe couldn't punch the skin off a rice pudding these days
Froch will go down when he fights a world class fighter, his chin Is good at domestic level while Calzaghe has proven to have an Iron chin. Yes he's gone down when unmotivated and fought In stinkers still but If Froch can be wobbled and hurt by shot fighters, Imagine what his chin will be like when he fights a Kessler or a heavy puncher.

Calzaghe before the china hands would of stopped Froch, now he wins every round one sided still. Calzaghe wouldn't struggle and take flush shots off Rybacki.

That would only be true In Nottingham but It would depend on who Froch fights. Calzaghe on home soil has done 50,000 and thousands when to see him Vs Hopkins.

Froch doesn't have bigtime drawing power like Hatton and Calzaghe.

If you were Calzaghe would you really be turning down a huge amount to fight legends even if they are old legends in the US, to fight Froch in the UK ? I would love to see the fight but it isn't going to happen is it, Froch is not going to add to Joe's legacy !!!

Froch is a fool if he thinks he can goad Calzaghe into fighting him. Froch had his chance with Calzaghe and didnt take it. He should have loked at the long term, not beefed on about how much more Calzaghe would have earned fighting him. Froch is a very talented boxer, has a superb amateur record and so far hes done very well as a pro but that doesnt mean he is going all the way. I think any argement about Froch beating Calzaghe is not only flawed but rediculous as well. He just doesnt have the speed and movement Calzaghe has, so his only chance would be the KO, and Joe can take a punch, get up from it, and go on to win. They are in different leagues so its just about as daft as Khan thinking he could beat Pacman. Froch seems to have a similar mentality to Khan, arrogance and a lack of respect for other fighters. He could end up on his back just like Khan as well if he doesnt show enough respect for Pascal. That copycat Naz style will let him down at the top level because he just doesnt have the speed. I keep saying it, the first rules in boxing are keep your hands up and defend yourself at all times, and Froch doesnt. Pascal isnt fighting Froch just for the money, he wants the title and will give Froch a hard time. If Froch was fighting Kessler I would give him no chance, Kessler would knock him out cold. Thats another thing Kessler couldnt handle Calzaghes speed so how the fornicate could Froch. Listen, Froch is the pupil, Calzaghe is the master, he needs to show him more respect.

I agree with many points waylon, but Froch would have a better chance with Joe, than Khan would with Pacman

Good Post WildWaylon :DDD

But what if Joe's brittle hand goes ? or if Froch catches him, he know's how to finish unlike Hopkins. Like i always say, if Calzaghe is so many leagues above Froch - why don't he fight him? he has fought a lot of little people since Lacy whilst Froch was top 10 in all bodies.

A Froch v calzaghe fight would draw at least 12,000 Froch fans for that, no problem.

7,500 capacity for the Pascal fight i imagine... and they won't be Canadians i can assure you Whiteboy. He got nearly that for Robin Reid which was just a British title defence.

Like I said, when Joe fought for his WBOgus title against Eubank, it was his 26th fight on the undercard to Ryan Rhodes V Yuri Epifantsev / Hamed v Badillo at Sheffield Arena which holds 9,000 for boxing matches. There was what, 150 fans of his there? ok let's say 200 ? Everyone nowadays are just bandwagon fans who fell of Ricky Hatton's following his defeat to Mayweather - and this is back in the day when boxing was still big news in the 1990's.

No comparison at all between their respective title fights with regards fans and TV exposure.

where do you keep getting 12,000 fans from ?? you keep contradicting yourself too if Froch can sell 12,000 tickets no problem why isn't his promoter putting him in a venue that can hold 12,000 fans ????
