Glencoffe or Glengoffe Johnson?

I notice the spelling on Johnson's BoxRecord has recently been switched from Glencoffe to Glengoffe. Can anyone explain?

Why not Glen? (Used quite often by the media.)

Well, that brings up a good point --

Camen Basilio HATES the fact that people spell his name that way. Carmen, of course, is a girl's name. Carman is the correct spelling. But, I doubt ANYBODY has spelled it that way and now even Carmen spells it with an "e"

Holly Mims is another example -- Holly is a girl's name while Holley is a boy's. Holly spelled his name with an e, but I don't know of any sportswriter (other than the CBZ!) who notes the differece.

Well, Carmen/Carman is a distinction only an Italian would get anyway - to non-Italians the pronunciation would make it sound like the girl's name Carmen in either case. If your name sounds like a girl's name and you don't like it, just go with your middle name ("G. Gordon Liddy") or some more-masculine-sounding nickname.

Long story short - Glen Johnson it is, new improved decaf version with extra flavor crystals. ;)
