What odds!!!
Khan and Harrison have both claimed they would be World champions and predicted the year. I am not a gambling man but I wonder what odds you would get now on this pair for sometime during 2009. Harrison 150/1 maybe, and Khan possibly 20/1. I do mean a genuine title not WBU or something. For those of you who do know a bit about betting, you must have some idear what the bookies would be likely to offer.
Re: What odds!!!
No chance on either winning a world title (genuine) next year, or ever for that matter. Save your money.
Re: What odds!!!
So SHW, Audley beats both Klit brothers, then Haye and signs off a career that has become the most miraculous reversal of fortune since Myleene Klass left Hearsay by facing SPROTT????
Did your crackpipe used to be attached to the side of a house??

Re: What odds!!!
some of you guys talk absolute underpants, audley would not stand a chance against either of the klitschko brothers. they can hit and audley if scared of anyone with a punch......and anyone without a punch....
Re: What odds!!!
I would give Audley a slight chance against Peter - that's all. If (and that's a freaking big if) he managed to stay out of Peter's slow arse bombs then he could keep him on the end of his jab all night. I'm not saying he would win but I would give him a slight chance - 5/1 perhaps?

Now I'd pay PPV to see Myleen Klass versus Peter. Is that really why she left Hearsay.
Either way she's my second favourite bird on the M&S adverts.

Re: What odds!!!
I think you'd do extremely well to get those sorts of odds for a title win by the end of '09 WildWay.
betfair opened a book up on whether Khan would win a world title - WBO, WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO - by Jan 1st 2009. He was matched as low as 1.10 (1/10) at one point, but is now on offer at 9/1. However, backers on bf are looking for 20-25/1. Note, however, that's just to win a title by the end of '08. For him to win a world title by the end of '09 I think you'd be looking at something much shorter - on the highstreet at least. Unless Khan goes painting again, I can't see how Frank won't get him a title shot some time next year, so the answer would be something round about 3 or 4/1 I'd say, and that's tending a bit on the generous side given the SN/WBO old boys network, the pressure on SN to put on a big fight given they have Khan on PPV, and the probability that Campbell won't be able to hold onto 3 belts for much longer given boxing politics, thus freeing up a belt.
Obviously Odd's (geddit - Auds, odds
DD
:)
:( ) a different kettle of fish, but even where he is now, two fights and he could get a ranking, and a title shot. Winning the title fight is another matter of course, and I'd say you'd get 25s or 33s for him to win a title. Note though, that's what you'd get, not the price it's worth having a punt on him at.
Personally, I wouldn't lay Khan to win a title next year at anything more than odds-against. With Aud, and for the sake of argument assume I'm a highstreet bookmaker who wouldn't tie his money up in laying your bet, I'd only give you around 20/1 or 25/1. I'd back him at 66s maybe. If drunk or forced into it.

Re: What odds!!!
As I said I am not a gambling man and therefore I dont understand a lot about it. For while some years ago I did bet on any horse that had red in its name, Red Rum, Red Alligator, Red Swan etc. I linked Harrison and Khan together because both were Olympic stars and now both have a lot of career rebuilding to do. I would have thought the odds for Harrison winning the title would be very good as few have faith in him anymore. Khans chances are theoretically much better, but for him to win a title by the end of 2009 would I think be very optomistic. There were many who thought he wouldnt ever do it before his defeat to Prescott never mind now. So yes I am quite surprised you think the odds would be that low. I am not planning on placing a bet, just thought you guys could state what odds you thought would be reasonable for these fighters, to measure what chance most of you believe they have of realising their dream.
