Cruiserweight king Holyfield steps into the Heavyweight world
in search of glory and a fight with Tyson.
Tough body beautiful Briton, Bruno has been placed in front of
him as both men face off for a title show down with Tyson.
Bruno has been inactive since his destruction of Joe Bugner, has
elected to have a year off...BUT a big pay day lures him into the
ring. Both men have trained hard.
Evander Holyfield 6'2 1/2, 205lb
VS
Frank Bruno 6'3, 230lbs
Who do you see winning and how...?
Evander Holyfield Vs Frank Bruno 1988

Holyfield. In 1988 Holyfield was small but he would still have won. Bruno really didn't really peak until the early 1990s, when Holyfield would have won after a bit of a struggle.Robinson wrote:Cruiserweight king Holyfield steps into the Heavyweight world

May have been interesting for a few rounds. There probably would be alot of action. Eventually, Holyfield's superior speed and skill would be too much for Bruno. Holyfield would probably stop Bruno in about 7 rounds.

I pick Holyfield after a good battle. I think Holyfield would have easily won in 1996, but in 1988 it would be more interesting.
Holyfield, durable and strong, would nullify Bruno ultimately after a few bruising rounds.

I don't know why, but i see Bruno managing to pull of a victory here. By SD of not UD.
Holyfield at this stage was still relativley green, Bruno was looking good. One problem i see with Bruno is, he usually seems to be the better boxer, however, for no apparent reason he will get carried away at one stage, and from there, lose the fight by KO.
If Bruno keeps his cool, the 88-92 period, Bruno wins.
