Zdravko Micevic V Kane McKay - It's On !
Zdravko Micevic and Kane McKay will compete for the vacant Australian Lightheavy Weight title on October 31 at the Coburg town hall.
Big fight for Micevic entering his first 10 rounder against Kane who's a proven hard man. Should be an interesting fight.
Under card includes Charle Njock, Tim Hunt and Ben Costello at this stage.
Tickets available by calling me on 0400 817 332.

who cares very ordinary card anyway
Re: Zdravko Micevic V Kane McKay - It's On !
Actually I care.superstarsgallery wrote:who cares very ordinary card anyway
Micevic vs McKay will be a real tear-up. Micevic has never been beyond six, while McKay wneth te twelve round distance inh is last fight. This is a good, even match up.
As for it being "a very ordinary card", the only fight that has been matched thus far is the main event.
Seems to me you're being overly critical simply for the sake of it.

ive been to one a promotion of Korica when I came down to Victoria and the ring was in one corner and it was absolute shite,
I would rather watch synchronized swimming in a bath tub worst promotion ever. Sydney promotions are much much better value for money, Other Victorian promotions are far better I went to a Murray Thompson show fantastic.

Ring in the corner??? Not any of our shows.
What date? Who was main event? Which venue?
I think you're way of track there.

Yeah...Little disappointing but what do you do. This is our sixth promotion coming up and and we are getting stronger each time. I suppose you can't please everyone and a little criticism is valuable but I think this guy is way off track. Micevic V McKay will be a great fight to follow on from Porky V Bell. Light heavy's stealing the show down here at the moment.
Re: Zdravko Micevic V Kane McKay - It's On !
have seen kane mckay fight but have never had the chance to see micevic in action is he a puncher or boxer
what are your thoughts on who will win and why
unfortunately another good fight in victoria good on you
you seem to have alot of great fighters down there is there any chance this will be on tv as i am from sydney
seems ambitious from micevic considering he has never been past four

Re: Zdravko Micevic V Kane McKay - It's On !
Micevic is a boxer with fantastic hand speed. He stands about 6'3" and moves very well. He has gone 6 rounds twice but has been sparring Porky and McCracken and is confident with his fitness. Kane is respected for his toughness and Micevic knows he must produce the fight of his life to be victorious. Big test for Micevic and a win would earn him great respect. I cant help being biased but I believe it will be a close one.

Saw Micevic and Porky go six last week (thanks for putting up with me Charlie!). Good even sparring, which should give you an indication of where Zdravko is at.Charlie Liparota wrote:Micevic is a boxer with fantastic hand speed. He stands about 6'3" and moves very well. Great handspeed for a big guy, moves well, good balance and a decent whack on him. Looks to be in good shape and the ten rounds shouldn't be too much trouble for him.
McKay will try to drag him into the trenches and if he does Micevic might have his work cut out for him.
Really looking forward to this one, prolly even more so than Lovett-Bell (if only because I can have a beer at this promotion - it is an open bar, right Charlie?!).

Re: Zdravko Micevic V Kane McKay - It's On !
sorry i meant has only had four fights(previous post never been past four rounds)
to me at 31 this is the pinnacle of mckays career to be the best of the domestic fighters but for micevic he would most probably be looking to use this title as a stepping stone
i just thought that he would have liked a few more fights at mckays level before he stood up and challenged the likes of lovett bell whereas now i guess he will have to do it while he has the belt considering he wins
i only say this considering the fact that bell is trying to go to the next level but if he fails he may come back and fight for the title he relinquished and do you think micevic is up to that challenge
if micevic had an extensive amatuer career like geale than this fight is not fast tracked im not saying micevic is ambitious to take this fight but ambitious if he has to face bell and or the opposition you would expect him to fght if he wins
as i have never seen micevic fight i dont know if they are evenly matched skill wise but bell would have to be the fittest fighter in this weight and could use this to his advantage if they fought
obviously it sounds like he is going to be a great fighter and maybe aus next new prospect at this weight
the way you describe micevic he sounds alot like baff and if mckay reproduces that kind of fight and gets on the inside he could spoil micevics day
please dont take this post the wrong way i am just expressing an unbias opinion on an exellent well matched fight would be interested to get this fight on tape if someone could help me after they fight as i will be unable to go

gerry you are pretty well spot on with what you say, no need to apologise for your thoughts on this fight. I know Kane very well and have seen zdravko in the ring and they have sparred as well. i think it was an accurate insight into this fight, I have refrained a little from commenting as i am biased in Kanes direction with this one but the comparison to the baff fight as well as the withers fight on green/mundine undercard was spot on mate. this may be best fight in victoria this year.

Just confirmed it with Tony Salta. Kane has injured his ribs in training last night. Wish him a speedy recovery.
